Defending spying on Americans. Andrea Mitchell is taking him apart.

A Howdy Doody look-alike fool. (With apologies to Howdy)

1. Andrea Greenspan being rude to a Repuke?
puhleeze. Earlier today she declared that this is a choice between civil liberties and "safety". Considering that we have had BOTH for 225 years until dumbass moved into Gore's office, this is pure propaganda.

5. She just smacked down the RNC
Showed their press release where they cite an exec. order by Clinton where he supposedly did the same thing, then said they took it out of context and showed the full quote, where he makes the caveat that searches without warrants must not be used against American citizens. Great smackdown.

because his right eyebrow goes up whenever he tells a lie.

I hadn't noticed that yet but it makes sense. Glad to hear, however, that Andrea Mitchell took him apart.

They smacker her silly yesterday over her outrageous ("should Americans be more afraid of a terrorist attack or someone getting into their hard drive"). Maybe she's trying to prove she's not a complete Republican hack.

11. George Allen is as dumb as paint
My all time favorite moment of his was on MTP when some point came up about poor elderly people loosing their homes and he said something like "well, at least they won't have to mow the lawn." That is not an exact quote, but it is the gist of what he said. I never saw a politician be stupider on TV (of course with the exception of our current President).

23. Hey, now; wait a minute: latex paint is flexible.
This guy is just the gift that goes on giving; he's got the most pathetic circuitry this side of Junior and Dan Quayle. He's breathtakingly stupid, and he makes gaffe after gaffe in the service of selfishness and privilege. It's sad testimony to the country that a nobody like this can ascend to a position of such power.

At least he's fun to watch. Hell, he makes John Warner seem like a genius, and that's WORK.

16. You have my sympathies.
I can't stand him. I just can't stand the man. He has those 'nobody is home right now' eyes and he turns everything into a football metaphor. Is there anyone, anyone at all in VA who can take this guy on in '06? (I'll contribute. Anything to get this moron out of Foreign Relations Committee hearings.)

Ahm, the great Commonwealth of Virginia just doesn't deserve to have this fucking idiot representing it in the Senate. It's just not right.

21. Warner would beat him hands down
But it seems as if Mark has his sights set on another rather unattainable prize (for him, anyway).

Warner is a known winner on a local scale, and an almost guaranteed loser nationally.

18. National Journal poll of insiders says Allen leads for GOP nomination

This news was posted by someone else a few days back

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2005/04/28/insiders_poll_predicts_clinton_vs_allen.html

"A new poll of Republican Party insiders gives the early edge in the race for its 2008 presidential nomination to one of its least well-known potential candidates: Sen. George Allen (Va.).

Insiders Poll Predicts Clinton vs. Allen
A National Journal poll to be released tomorrow of "congressional and political insiders" finds Sen. George Allen (R-VA) ranked first among 2008 GOP presidential candidates and Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) ranked first among Democrats. Each of 215 insiders were asked to rank their top five choices.

On the Republican side, Allen finished with 229 combined points, while Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) finished second with 217, Sen. Bill Frist (R-TN) third with 184, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani fourth with 129 and Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney fifth with 109 points.

On the Democratic side, Clinton led all Democrats with 388 points, followed by former Sen. John Edwards (D-NC) with 192, Virginia Gov. Mark Warner with 166, Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) with 125 and Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) with 90"

22. ya, but I doubt that will happen
Edited on Thu Dec-22-05 09:27 AM by Douglas Carpenter
Romney's Mormon background will make him unacceptable to most fundamentalist and he would be too "liberal" and pro-choice and (except for marriage) generally too pro gay rights for the hardliners. Just as
Guiliani is too "liberal" and pro-choice and generally pro gay rights by current Republican Party standards.

I suspect Romney and Guiliani are quite popular with the Cato Institute-American Enterprise Institute crowd and with the corporate CEO and lobbyist
crowd--but not with the GOP foot soldiers and those most likely to participate in caucuses and primaries.
