Polls say Bush is up to 50% approval
What do you think? Is it rigged or are people starting to agree with the bastard.

Others don't show that. There seems to be a wide range right now.

Perhaps it's best to wait for a while and see what the trends seem to be.

5. Name the poll(s) for us, if you can. Otherwise, we can safely
assume that it's rigged.

And by identifying the poll source, we can also determine whether this is true or just bullshit.

Thanks.

the others are low 40s to high thirties. When it's all calculated out, Bush is still an incompetant dry drunk in some serious need of deep therapy.

8. Where are the polls? What questions were asked?
Trust me, they'll find 50% of the people liked the tie that Bush was wearing on a certain day and suddenly they think that means Bush's approval is improving.

Posts like this without a link to something, either the poll or the article, I hold suspect at best

thread. But wait - I can drag my knuckles with the best of them -

"Polls show that Bush is wildly popular with a 78% approval rating!" (Among freeper trolls and the brain addled.) Results may vary. Consult a physician if symptoms of hysteria and hallucinations develop.

10. Not buying it.
You see it here (and on other websites) all the time of late -- we all know people who were formerly Bush supporters who have now had enough; we're seeing LTTEs in our newspapers from former supporters who are finally jumping off the bandwagon.

The most accurate 'poll' is listening to the people around you -- and more and more of them are backing away from this Idiot.

Sort of like the ubiquitous "People say..." and when I hear that "People say" anything that suggests how "beloved," "misunderstood," "concerned," "dedicated," or whatever this pResident is, I truly wonder how stupid Americans must be. They don't even have to spin the news anymore. So many of us blatantly lap it up when they just "call it in..." :eyes:

Whether they're sampling GOP heavily to get president Hee-Haw up, or whether the 24-7 marketing is working with no major disasters to expose corruption and incompetence. I'm more concerned about John"geewhiz gimme a hug"McCain polling so far ahead of Hillary or other democratic contenders. I'd feel happier about Bush going down in the polls if the democrats went up by a large margin. Or if people didn't think the media was liberal in the polls.

42. Feedback on why you were questioned closely...
Edited on Mon Dec-26-05 12:45 PM by BleedingHeartPatriot
The title of your OP indicates that more than one poll has gwb at (or as you so provocatively stated "up to") 50%. That would be of great interest to many of us here who watch the polling numbers closely.

I would assume you were trying to get attention drawn to your post. However, your OP is vague and does not give dates or specific data from the "polls". Nor does it cite from which polling organization these numbers were drawn.

And, you did not supply a link for verification.

If you want reasoned responses, please post a reasonable OP (original post). MKJ

Rasmussen is a Bush hack, and when he needs to skew his results, he alters the approach. Calling on weekends gives a much higher PUB sample than is real.

54. THEY'RE LYING
They're doing this so Bush will look like he has a good approval rating, before the mid-term elections next year. That way, they can steal the election fair and square.

If the REAL numbers were out, the Repugs would not be able to steal the election! If the public knows that his approval ratings were really around 19, 20%, they would never be able to pull it off.

It's a scam, short and simple.

55. Most people undestand that Rasmussen leans towards bush...
and the questions that are asked in any given poll have to be scrutinized. Far too often pushpolloing is the culprit and demographics have a tremedous impact.

Somewhere, 50% 'of the people polled' will say they think bush is doing OK, however soutces from RW ideologues should be taken w/a very heavy pinch of salt.

I'm in Nebraska, people here despise bush, most won't openly say that, but I've seen enough over the past year to know bush is in hot water. If Nebraskans are sick of him, trust me, he doesn't have a leg to stand on, neither does his party.

I've gotten 27 people to change their voter's registrations from Republican to Independent, and 5 more to change to Democrat...People here in this blood red state are practical if nothing else, and bush is seen as a complete buffoon, except to the incredibly blind base.

Give a much more balanced view than any single poll. The downward trending of gwb's approval poll numbers is a clear pattern.

I'm seeing true conservatives turn from gwb on a variety of issues (posse comitus, the deficit, foreign debt and "nation building" for example).

Thanks for your report from Nebraska. MKJ

You see, I read a public forum for Nashville, TN where I constantly engage in debates with republicans. This morning one of those republicans quoted those poll numbers to me and I figured I could come here to find out if it were true. Only after going back and reading again did I notice the word "rasmussen" in his post, so I looked it up and posted the link further down the line.

Edited on Mon Dec-26-05 04:59 PM by BleedingHeartPatriot
A lot of DU'ers have limited time to visit the site and are counting on OP's to be accurate and verifiable.

When you post information about poll(s), it generates a lot of interest and viewing by DU'ers. If you don't give credible information, you've wasted their time and effort, as well as diminished your credibility. This is really tough on those with dial-up connections.

Your have a responsibility to to those whose opinions you "love". And your profane, personal attacks are a direct violation of the DU rules..

Sorry you couldn't just learn from the experience instead of considering constructive feedback as attacks. MKJ

65. Tis the season
Numbers are bound to be up, even without help from neocon pollsters, because of the Christmas season. People are more willing to be nice right now.

But just wait till their credit card bills come in, though, and people can't pay their bills because heating prices have gone sky high, and they can't afford to eat, so they'll have to take a stupid Bush poll on an empty stomach and freezing toes after they've just dragged their dying Christmas trees out to the road, shedding needles all the way... I'd like to see the poll numbers then.

70. I think it's a bunch of bull, another sellout
I find it hard to believe that 50% of the people "polled" would choose to have the constitution
shredded the way it's being done by this administration.

74. Like 50% is something to be proud of?
Hell, Clinton had a 70% approval rating on the day he was impeached. And boy did that piss off the wingnuts.
