TVNL's 2005 Person of the Year!
"We make the selection with a focus on the impact someone has had on the lives of others. There is no doubt that this person has had a most positive influence on the democracy he has championed throughout his political career."

5. You can thank him directly....
There is a contact link on the http://johnconyers.com - the Congressman's home page. You can congratulate him directly. Mr. Conyers acknowledged the TvNewsLIES choice in his blog today!

I'm sure that Congressman Conyers would be thrilled that others agree with the choice.

11. Best choice.... Rosa Parks connection too
Many don't realize that Rosa Parks worked for Conyers for a number of years upon moving to Detroit...
Not surprising that she would stay on so long to work for a man like this. He also was the one that campaigned for and got us the MLK holiday....

I have only been watching this year, I simply can't imagine what his entire career's legacy encompasses.

I remember reading some freeper thread about Conyers... they couldn't dig up any dirt... they were completely confounded at how someone could serve and not have stockpiles of cash on the side.... That is why I place my complete trust in this man.

14. this morning's revelations about OHIO...
...make this recognition even more meaningful! In case you missed the story about the video that reveals how the votes were kept from a recount and the one about how the 2004 election was 'delivered' to Bush:

17. Good work Congressman;
Too bad about your wife. I expected possibly a higher office for you until last week. First it was Mayor Coleman's wife caused him to drop out of a possible governor's race and now that bar scene. I haven't seen anything more on that topic. Whatever happened with that?
