Luskin (Rove's lawyer) quiet these days... what's the meaning?

Firedoglake blog speculates:

Luskin either got the boot or has been neutered. He's clearly not talking to the press any more, which is so un-Luskin like that either Karl has fired him or his participation as a witness now necessitates silence.

One thing's for sure: something is going on behind the scenes. I'd guess that those in-the-know KNOW that Rove's indictment is imminent. Perhaps they have already been notified (the prosecutor's "warning letter"). The MSM, except for "Hardball" has been ignoring this non-development: last night 2 attorneys appearing on "Hardball", assured that Rove would be indicted. So, when will the shoe drop?

Finally, though I wanted Rove to be indicted ASAP, I'm thinking now that it is better if it happens at the start of 2006, because that will set the tone for the Chimpy Administration in the new year. Your thoughts?

I thought they bought Rove a pass with V Novak's testimony
paid for with a government job for her husband.

2. if Rove is indicted in early January the SOTU address could be more fun...
the fuhrer would likely be mid-meltdown and heavily medicated....

between Fitz and the Abramoff and DeLay problems perhaps even average repugs will come to recognize their politicians as the "Culture of Corruption" crowd,...? One can hope anyway...

5. Bush will claim the British have a report that proves Rove's innocent
And if Rove isn't acquitted, the smoking gun may be a mushroom cloud.

3. indict, indict, indict........
then repeat

then indict some more

if cheney gets indicted, this will be the beginning of the end of the unelected chimp admin.

after the indictments, let's start seeing some judgements of guilty, guilty, guilty.....

2006, regain the senate and the house......impeach, impeach, impeach......then let denny hastert finish chimpy's term, while the dems sharpen their knives for 2008.

if justice is allowed to prevail the republican party will be left so impotent by the exposed corruption (bush, cheney, rove, libby, armstrong, delay, frist, abramoff, etc etc etc) that no republican could win the presidency in 2008. once, we're back in power, we can use bush's precedence of wiretapping to get the dirt on limbaugh, coulter, hannity, and the whole fox news corp and shut down the propoganda machine.

the dems have to be tough. they can't back down. it's time to destroy the enemy and let the few standing true conservatives try to rebuild a respectable party.

oh yeah, and all freepers will be sent to clean up the mess in iraq.

4. I think Fitz is waiting for the new year to indict Rove.
I think Rove will by indicted by mid-January, just a gut feeling.

And now, since you mentioned it, my reference in cartoon to same.

7. You wouldn't believe how much we played with that one.
Rove's hair color, Rove's beard, the spear.

I love that one!! Even pubs that hate almost everything we've done seem to like that one.

8. This is just my opinion
IMHO. IMHO. IMHO.
I believe that Mr. Luskin has had to hire his own attorney. I believe that attorney told him to keep his mouth shut.

9. I think you are correct
Luskin was shooting his mouth off quite freely, and someone somewhere along the line let him know that he could be sucking around for a complaint against his bar ticket. Lawyers will do a lot of things, but when it comes to risking their livelihoods, they usually draw the line very quickly.

Whether it was Luskin's personal attorney warning him or someone familiar with the rules of professional conduct isn't clear to me, but I think someone told him that he was sailing very close to the edge.

10. I agree. I think Luskin is in trouble and will have to step aside.
He may get indicted before this is over. Fitz has to know they played him for a sucker by getting him to hold off on Rove with last minute information.

If the testimony before the GJ shows that Luskin was purposely leading Fitz on a goose chase, he may get indicted, too.
