Anyone know who the "key white house aide" who was "charged
with felonies" that arianna posted about in her 2005 things i want to forget list?

i can't figure out who she is referring to and it's driving me crazy!

her paragraph says:
"that voters could have gone to the polls in 2004 knowing that bush was spying on americans, that a key white house aide was charged with felonies, and that the initial reasons for invading iraq were bogus--but didn't, thanks to the timidity of the mainstream media."

if you know the answer please help me out here.

1. She's talking about Irving Scooter Libby.
I believe she's referring to how Fitz said in his press conference, that if the media people hadn't staged that bogus (my word, not his) "defending the First Amendment" stuff, we could've been there seeing the indictment of Scooty-boot way back in October of 2004.

2. Sounds like Libby
He was charged with felonies, and was a key WH aide.

4. I sometimes have to laugh at that phrase "Key WH Aide."--
They should be referred to as WH cover-uppers. And they all seem to be "key."

7. "Procurement chief David H. Safavian."
FWIW --

The Bush administration's top federal procurement official resigned Friday and was arrested yesterday, accused of lying and obstructing a criminal investigation into Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff's dealings with the federal government. It was the first criminal complaint filed against a government official in the ongoing corruption probe related to Abramoff's activities in Washington.

6. Yes he resigned
and then was indicted a couple of days later. That why the headlines read former White House official. Can't remember his name?
