I experienced a bit of cognitive dissonance while driving .......
I passed this big, fat, wallowly, oversized, overstuffed Ford SUVs .... the one that won't fit into a standard garage. The back was festooned with various bumper stickers.

A sampling:

I am pro life and I vote

Proud parent of a Bla Bla Elementary School Student of the Month

Save The Planet: Impeach George W. Bush

Member of the Bla Bla Hunt Club

No War For Oil

A yellow ribbon

An American Flag

Support the Troops. Bring Them Home

.... and many others ... with an equally mixed message ... to say the least.

What would you make of this?

1. James Carville's car?
Some were his stickers, some were his wife's.

3. Joint ownership
I would suggest a couple owns the SUV and they each want their say.

5. More proof how America is so diverse yet
so similar...

We can respectfully disagree on some subjects, truly support America and its troops, but want this bastard removed from office.

I see it as a positive....

8. Moderate Dem?
I wouldn't think there's anything unusual about a moderate Dem who supports hunting, is anti-choice, and has entitlement issues over oil (drives a gas guzzler but opposes wars to fuel it).

12. If I wanted to advertise...
... on my vehicle I could put:

It's not a child it's none of your business

Own a few firearms but screw the NRA

Support our troops, bring them home

We only have one Earth, let's take care of it

Balanced budget amendment, the time is now

I consider myself a solid Dem "liberal" (I'm growing to not like that word, subject for another post) but I don't go lockstep on every issue, and personally when I meet someone (or read someone) who is a lockstep "liberal" or "conservative" I'm suspicious that they might not have the capability of independent thought at all.
