We should not be harsh on Bush about the Katrina video conference
Just because someone warned about the breech of the levees does not mean that he heard it, comprehend it, understood what needed to be done, or even remembering anything that was said in this, or in any other meeting. That Bush was a "pretty face" selected by the powerful people in the Republican party was clear to most of us from the first time his mentioned, even before he announced his candidacy.

That more and more Americans realize this now... it is too late. He will not be impeached; we will have to tolerate him for 34 more months. The only thing that we need to work is that this can be used in the 2006 elections to capture the House and the Senate.

1. It is too late???? So sez you!!! My mileage varies considerably!!
I think chimpeachment is more possible now than ever before--and even if the proceedings have to start the day after the next Congress is seated, so be it.

NEVER TOO LATE! To be harsh, OR to impeach.

7. Yes it is POSSIBLE but in reality how LIKELY is it.......
....that the behind the scenes players would allow their corporate boy king to get taken down?? I'd like to see it but I also know it simply will not happen.

4. More likely just daydreaming
I don't think they allow him on camera drunk. Although painkillers are a possibility, I suppose. I think he was probably thinking of going to McCain's birthday party, or the next fundraiser, or golfing, or pussy, or one of the many other things that continually occupy the mind of one of the smallest, shallowest men ever to hold public office.

Simply put, he doesn't care - about his job, about America, about Americans, about anything except his next little bit of pleasure. He is an honest-to-God sociopath.

5. Indeed. Like Reagan, he just want to have fun
going to bed at 10:00 (sleeping, that is) not being bothered with newspapers or other hard news, just passing eight years playing a cowboy. The Indians can be in Nicaragua, or in Iraq, who cares?

Except, as others often point out: Reagan knew that he was playing a president, Bush thinks that he is the real thing.

And to think that for many Americans Reagan was one of the greatest presidents, this, really, is frightening.

6. Bush is an empty head. He's a spokesmodel.
He is clueless when it comes to running the government. He just does whatever his schedulers tell him he's doing that day.

Bush is good at campaigning, and he knows how to look "steadfast" while reading a speech, and that's about as far as it goes. Bush doesn't have a clue how to govern, or what to do in an emergency.
