Why is the port issue still a big deal?
Can't they just find someone else to guard the ports and move on? Why is this still ongoing?

1. Because Bush still wants it
Wouldn't want to disappoint his dear friends from the UAE. Wouldn't want to offend them.

3. Oh, ok
I wasn't aware that Bush was still pressing for the UAE to take the job. I thought for sure he would have changed his mind by now.

2. Why is the attention span of so many Americans so short as to seem
non-existant? Or is it a problem with not paying attention to the details of the issue in question.

One. This is a BAD DEAL.
Two. The bush** administration is pushing it.
Three. When the suggestion that an American corporation step in and partner up with the Seven Families of the UAE, do you know what corporation was said to be the 'only one capable of doing the job'? Halliburton. Frigging Halliburton.

Does this help even a little?

4. Yes it does
It's clearer for me now, I wasn't aware that Bush was still pushing for it.

5. I have to apologize. I sound pretty crabby, and maybe it's because I
am. This ports deal thing is just so bullshit. And it just amazes me that the criminals who have led us to war based on lies, have stolen every damn dime in the treasury and billions that wasn't there as well, have made the middle and lower classes nothing more than indentured servants to the rich, has completely and intentionally screwed up Medicare, has taken money for food and shelter for the poor and is using it to plug the holes in their tax giveaway to the rich, are pulling this blatantly illegal and traitorous act just to grab every last dime then can before they lose power.

These people need to be sent to the Hague and then sent back here for trial for treason.

6. Do you think
they had this scenario in mind all along? Or are they too st*pid for that?
I just can not make up my mind about this administration:
Incompetent,
OR
Incompetent like a fox?

8. Oh yes, I believe that this was planned. This is an administration who may
not be known for it's integrity and honesty, but has been very very skillful in the way that they've played the people of this country and has been extremely successful in making long-term plans and carrying them out.

In fact, I think that's party of why Dick shooting Harry in the face had the potential to be such a disaster. Dick was about to pull off this coup and get control of the port system with his Arab buddies, and then he goes and has a few beers and blasts someone in the face. Couldn't have that kind of publicity when he's in the middle of pulling off another one of his crimes, now could he.

That's why crazy old Harry made an ass out of himself apologizing for being shot. I think he was pressured so that the heat would be taken off Cheney's arrogance and complete lack of anything except greed.
