Oh, did you know Iraq is on the brink of a civil war? Never mind that! We have spelling errors to report!

But how many times have I/we/you/everyone here made fun of Bush's "fool me once..." stumble speech? Streisand's mangled tirade is just as much of an embarrassment as Chimpy's flubs.

Ms. Streisand was an entertainer whose movies we could chose to see or music we could chose to listen to. It should be so easy to exclude Dubya from our lives.

I have always been attracted to women with flaws. Stunningly beautiful birds of exquisite perfection were quite off-putting. I found Ms. Streisand very attractive. Probably some male psycho thing, in response to my own flaws. Gotta be a message in here, somewhere.

But we already knew that about Drudge. And I'm series111. We already know that Drudgey had a thing for David Brock.

I'm suspicious of all this misspelling stuff, it happened once before and since the piece was dictated and went through a number of channels (and was even in the hands of a Republican at one point)before being printed, I'll wait to see what happened this time.

While Barbra might or might not want to risk a nail by hitting "spellcheck", she still gets it all right on what a disaster the Bush administration is for America.

(By the way...the reality is that not all male fans of Babs are gay. Also a reality: spelling and grammar matter.)

No doubt the essay was not typed by Ms. Streisand herself. Many of the typos are consistent with someone who's in a hurry. A busy admin just didn't catch them, or forgot to run spell check. No big deal. No story here. Continue on.

The person who typed Streisand's statements made typos. I wonder whether she also spread around a story about John Kerry having an affair with an intern. Or whether she printed bilge about Sid Blumenthal. Or...

Bush can't talk, so who cares if Barbara can't spell? She's not running the country. He is.

Anyway, Streisand was speaking out against the Right-Wing onslaught back when most Dem politicians chose to sit on their hands.

She's taken a great deal of heat for it. I don't mind showing some support and expressing a little gratitude for her using the platform she has in a way that (I feel) is important.

Back when folks thought the best way to go was to shut-up, she stepped out front.

Would her voice be more important if she had a single hit in the top-ten? Should I pay attention to Dr. Fate's posts only when he receives an "Employee of the Month Award"? :-) Of course not, you are worth reading.

We all have our own little platforms from which to speak. If we kept reducing them down to the "most important", The president would end up being the only important voice in America.

Come to think of it, that's exactly what the goal is in the White House these days.
