What is a rational punishment for murder?
MS has passed a bill banning abortion. Supporters of the bill equate abortion with murder. The penalty for performing an abortion (murder) is "up to" five thousand dollars and "up to" one year in jail. And the mother, who hired the "hit man" to take out her baby gets no punishment at all. So one person may get a year in jail and his/her accomplice gets nothing for committing "murder" in Mississippi. A cynical person would think the state legislature is attempting to placate their hatefilled base while not trying to seem to "conservative."

I am for choice, totally opposed to any laws banning abortion.

Oh, sorry- I suppose this should have warranted a serious answer. I'm too tired to come up with one though.

3. Actually, cheney will probably come to Mississippi to hunt because
the state legislature passed a law this year which would prevent hunting accidents being made public.

2. It's obviously hypocritical and intellectual dishonest. But then again,
aren't all right wing arguments, laws and reasoning.

4. Automatic death penalty on 2nd offense...
I think everyone should get a 2nd chance, if they fuck that one up then they should die.

5. First, abortion is murder, then contraception is murder
And once that's in place the next step is to protect the sanctity of sperm.

Spilling sperm will become murder.

After all, there is a biblical precedent for establishment of said law.

7. Wow, I'm a murderer
Lots of spillage over the years.

However, I depend on the constitution for my guidance, not the bible.

6. How can there be ANY rationality about these topics?
First, how can ANYBODY not feel strongly about murder?

Second, we are inclined by our nature to respond protectively towards infants, and the abortion brouhaha is for many of its antagonists about that protective impulse having being manipulated until it is felt for a pinhead-sized clot of cells.
