McCain is Such a Sycophant, Disgusting Behavior
Mathews just said "McCain is showing his independence by showing his loyalty to Bush!!" Is that a hoot or what? What a painfully amazing suck-up McCain is. If I ever had any admiration for him it was lost when he started sucking up to Bush after they screwed him so royally during the campaign. The only worse tactics employed in the last 40 years was perhaps the media's Dean scream campaign.

Showing independence by being loyal to Bush, puhleeze!. And what a shallow ploy? It could only work on a bunch of mindless, sycophant, non-thinking republicans, and besides that it is just plain stupid.

1. Why would anyone
want a person like McCain in the WH? If he sucks up to Bush who would be next when it comes to world leaaders?

2. I never could stand him...
and everything he's done since he allegedly "took on" Bush have just confirmed why I can't. He is nothing more than Bush's beee-otch who'd do anything to become a "made" man in the organized crime group better known as the Republican Party.

3. After trying to fashion an image of a moderate good government patriot
McCain has returned to his roots. He's a Bush-hugging, Dubai-appeasing, flip-flopping political hack.

4. Maybe he feels that if he stopped clinging to Bush
right at the time Bush's popularity fell - he would look insincere. So, he may have initially stayed with Bush, expecting things to swing back for Bush. It also may be that he supports the port deal, expanding the war and reforming social security. The latter almost surprised me the most - on Road to the White House yesterday he spoke about Bush having done the right thing trying to sell this. (Incidently RTTWH had McCain in Memphis and Kerry in NH - As an unbiased :) JK group person, Kerry was far far better here than McCain- funny, relaxed and energized.

I really think McCain's call for his supporters to write in Bush on the straw poll is beyond bizzare. He was going to lose, but it's Tennessee. He should have just let it happen and dismissed the loss as "Frist is the favorite son here". Adding Bush to a 2008 straw poll for a race he is not eligible to run in is weird. Imagine how mocked a Democrat would be if they did this?
