White House to McClellan: Get Out There and LIE!
Edited on Mon Mar-13-06 08:34 PM by Carla in Ca

Scotty dumbs Feingold's censure proposal down for the American population:

"I think it does raise the question, how do you fight and win the war on terrorism?" McClellan said. "And if Democrats want to argue that we shouldn't be listening to al Qaeda communications, it's their right and we welcome the debate. We are a nation at war."

Why you little lying bastard.

Get this into the conversation, Dems: We're not against the wiretapping of al Qaeda suspects. What we're against is doing it randomly WITHOUT THE PROPER WARRANTS.

We're against this president deciding he can circumvent a law - which is purposely designed to be free of red tape - and hide behind the theory of "protecting us" as his excuse.

It's not so much the hubris. It's the ILLEGALITY of what he did. Period.

Try your lies on someone else, Scotty. After the Dubai deal, the Valerie Plame outing, and all your other fairy tales, you're lucky if anyone believes the bullshit that's pouring out of your mouth anymore.

You want to keep pounding Clinton's "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" line? Fine. Let's pound this one right back up your asses.

April 20, 2004:

Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires—a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way. When we're talking about chasing down terrorists, we're talking about getting a court order before we do so. It's important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution.

-President Bush at a "Protecting the Homeland" Q and A in Buffalo, NY

There it is. Bush's "Read My Lips" moment. Run with it, Dems.

1. There is no law against spying on al Qaeda!
No one cares and I think it safe to say that everyone supports spying on al Qaeda. What we don't like is spying on Quakers and other American citizens without a warrant... and said warrant can be obtained up to 72 hours after the fact, so it won't slow down even the dumbest of presidents... so Bush should be ok with it!

4. One thing that Repubs do well...
is frame these issues. Granted, the frame they use is full of total bullshit and all lies, but they frame the issue by making it a fight against terrorists, not a fight against constitutional rights....and the Dems have absolutely no answer for it.

Why is it that WE (the bloggers) seem to be able to rebuff the Republican bullshit so easily, yet our Democratic leaders are afraid of their own shadows?!!

What is so hard about RE-framing this issue for the American people? What is so hard about telling the American people that this is NOT a "terrorist surveilence program"? That their own liberties are at stake here!! Why can't we do that - with ONE united voice!!

I have a dream. A dream where Democrats in the House and Senate find their backbones and realize that the American people are starving for leadership. A different direction. All the polls say so, so what the hell are they waiting for?!!

5. BIGGEST LIE: we welcome the debate
if they were "sincere" about welcoming a debate -- why was frist all hot and bothered to have an immediate vote on the censure resolution WITHOUT a DEBATE?
