Call me fickle - Al Gore '08 - here's why...
His credibility on global warming issues

His credibility on alternative energy

His character as evidenced by not fading away after having the election stolen

He is bulletproof against Rove's bullshit

He knows the inner workings of DC but now he's considered an outsider

NO DLC consultants

No Donna Brazierre

Grass roots support all the way

The world can't wait
Al Gore '08

6. Back On Track
Dont forget Tipper - Every CD with "Fuck" on it now has a warning sticker on it thanks to her efforts. A bigger moral victory than anything the GOP has ever gained. And goes along way to endearing them to a more conservative crowd.

9. Who cares? I buy them for myself - like Green Day's American Idiot
but I wouldn't want my 8 year old to get a CD and then find out it has explicit language on it.

It is a friggin sticker. It is for parents. If you are buying your own CD's, who gives a sh#$.

and I wish we could just let it go.

I reread your post and now see exactly where you were coming from and I agree. I must of skimmed it too fast.

8. I would like to see Gore run.
But, I don't think your points are all correct. For instance, I don't think Gore is bulletproof against Rove (or the rights') bullshit. They'll still mock him as wooden and an elitist, etc. It will still stick with the sheeple. They'll still call him an extremist and it will stick with the sheeple. When he mops up the floor of a Repug in a debate, they'll call him an "pushy intellectual" and the sheeple will bleat in unison.

Still, if he can avoid the DLC, the handlers, and the Donna Brazilles of the world, he's got a good shot.

15. No DLC consultants?
Sure, he broke away from the assholes as soon as the election was stolen from him, licked his wounds for a few months, and then came out swinging, but what makes you think he won't accept the "help" from those corporate lobbyists turned DLC "handlers" again?

I'm afraid we need someone who is building his own organization and will be in a position to tell those lobbyists to go pound sand when they turn up to manage his campaign.

The last thing we need is another timid campaign that's afraid of offending the nutballs and another stupid do nothing platform cribbed from the DLC website.

If Gore can deliver that, I'll wave a flag and be all for him. If not, forget it.

Howrad Dean wants to break away from the corporate money. The $20 donations WILL fund his campaign.

34. Because the establishment knows he'll never win or because he's
gone through a late-life conversion to liberalism?

IMO, there isn't much farther Gore could go right without having to switch parties.

22. Must disagree
By this time next year global warming will be THE issue. All the studies are raising the red flags and no one has more cred on this than Gore. His documentary is coming out later this year on that very issue. This is his ace.

that person would be Gore.

Few others, {in the political leadership}
seem to be willing to spend any 'political goodwill'
on global warming.

25. And when exactly have the political leadership
led on ANY issue? It should be clear that "we the people" are driving the debate now. Name one thing that government has done in the past five and a half years that reflects the legitimate concerns of the people.

In my opinion, Leadership, with a capital L, is about bringing issues that matter to the forefront. Politicians bring issues that matter to their cronies to the forefront.
