AZ Candidate quits: Can't "overcome the far right's dominance" of GOP
Former state Senate President John Greene withdrew from the governor's race Monday, saying he could not "overcome the far right's dominance of the Republican Party" or potential supporters' apparent belief that Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano will win re-election.

Winning the Republican primary "realistically appears out of reach," said Greene, a fiscal conservative and abortion-rights supporter.

1. Good for him
The Governor should invite him to the mansion and humbly invite him to switch parties. I'm a fiscal conservative and an abortion rights supporter (as if that's my right as a male to have such an opinion) and I'm a flaming liberal.

VOTE ALL DEMS ALL THE TIME.

2. I love ya, BOSS
"(as if that's my right as a male to have such an opinion)"

Thank you for the sentiment and the support.

That was my first reaction to the story about Greene, too: "Join us"

3. Love ya too Rose Siding
I will not tell a woman she can not get an abortion
I will not tell a homosexual they can not get married
I will not tell a christian they can not exercise their religion
I will never stop defending the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic

I'll just take that ole Constitution ($4.95 in bookform at Barnes and Noble) and ask my fellow americans to sit down with me in the town square and read all about it. And maybe, just maybe, some of my fellow Mississipians will understand why this veteran is a yahoo liberal. Then, if push comes to shove, I'm a pretty good pusher.

Keep up the good fight teammate.

4. Actually, AZ has a state rep who has done just that to run for Supt.
of Public Instruction.

He was disgusted by the his party's unwavering support of giving tax money in the form of vouchers to those who send their children to private and charterschools. He has a special-needs child who he felt was being shortchanged (which is the obvious problem with public and charter schools; they are free to discriminate).

Even in Arizona, the tide is turning--and dollars to donuts John Greene endorses Janet Napolitano, which will swing even more moderates to our very popular Democratic governor.
