The "Wolf" Agrees With The Moose, RE: Censure
As much as I would love to see Bush censured, I have to agree with Bull Moose when he writes:

If Democrats want to express their displeasure over the NSA intercepts and the rest of the Bush Presidency, they have a tremendous opportunity. Unlike the Feingold resolution, this alternative has teeth. It is not merely a symbolic protest, it can change the course of history... November 7, 2006, election day.

There is only one force that stands in the way of Democratic control over Congress. That obstacle is known as the Democratic Party.

Flame away!

1. I disagree somewhat...
I think a properly handled censure resolution could have aided us in dumping Bush...it still may, but the way Feingold handled it delayed or eliminated that advantage in my opinion.

2. No flames here, but
In addition to THAT formidable obstacle, there's also these:

- consistent conservative slant of mainstream media
- rigged voting technology developed, owned and controlled by Republican-sycophantic corporations
- gerrymandered districts, and not just in Texas
- voter suppression in heavily Democratic precincts
- incredible levels of apathy among eligible voters, never worse than during mid-term elections
- whatever bullshit Rove and Co. can cook up as a distraction
- an uninformed general public, with overall levels of political awareness that would have gotten people laughed out of my seventh-grade social studies class

But I agree, the Democratic Party does seem to be obstacle NUMBER ONE these days.

3. Absolutely brilliant idea except for two tiny little details.........
.....
1) that will give the Dems yet another chance to set on their hands doing nothing

2) then in November after Dems have done nothing we leave it to the neocons to steal another election.

Wonderful idea:sarcasm:
