Democrats have lost? (Not really a stolen election thread)
Democrats have lost because we've had two F'd up elections. I don't know why? Maybe landslides would have helped. The Republicans pulled a couple of fast ones. And although the Republican were (and are) still up to their old tricks, the Democrats focused and won in 2005.

Democrats have lost?

Positively speaking: The Republicans haven't been doing so hot (other than having infiltrated the government at every level through dubious means and owning the media). Gore could have been awarded Florida and the Republicans would still be licking their wounds.

IMO, the focus should be on crushing the Republicans in the election for subjecting us and the rest of the world to Bush for five years.

New polls:

Newsweek Poll conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International. March 16-17, 2006. Nationwide.

"To begin, suppose the elections for U.S. CONGRESS were being held TODAY. Would you vote for the Republican Party's candidate or the Democratic Party's candidate for Congress in your district?" If other/unsure: "As of TODAY, do you LEAN more toward the Republican or the Democrat?" Options rotated. N=891 registered voters; MoE ± 4 (for all voters).

Republican 39%
Democrat 50%
Other (vol.)/Unsure 11%

"Which of the following outcomes would you most like to see for this year’s congressional elections? Would you rather see the Republicans keep control of Congress or the Democrats win enough seats to take over Congress?" Options rotated. N=1,020 adults; MoE ± 3 (for all adults).

Republican Control 34%
Democratic Control 50%
Unsure 16%

National Public Radio Poll conducted by Public Opinion Strategies (R) and Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research (D). March 12-14, 2006. N=800 likely voters nationwide. MoE ± 3.5.

"I know it is far ahead, but thinking about this year's elections, if the election for U.S. Congress were held today, would you be voting for the Democratic candidate or the Republican candidate in your district where you live?" Includes leaners

Republican 37%
Democrat 52%
Other (vol.) 1%
Unsure 10%
