Poll question: Leaving now "would be like turning over Germany to the Nazis"last attempt?
Have they (the Bush White) come to the end this month? Is this their last stand? I think Cheney said this today. And Bush looked so out of energy on the South Lawn.

1. Well, we let a shitload of Nazis escape to South America and elsewhere
...and we let most Nazi supporters GO. And we DID turn the country back over to the Germans after we fixed the joint up after the end of the war, and most of those guys weren't involved in any resistance--either on our behalf before the war, or against us after the war. They were happy as hell to cheer for der Fuhrer when they were tromping through Poland and things were going well.

So, what's the point the administration is trying to make??? I mean, come on, this is an apples and oranges argument...or more like apples and dogshit.

2. Escape? I'm supposing the Bush ancestors flew them there.
Wasn't Bushes grandpappy involved in financing the Nazis?

5. I just think bringing up Hitler's evil ghost
is despicable when discussing why we have to stay there and have young men's torn up bodies get shipped back to the USA, when, as far as I can see, they're dying for the saving of face...

7. Of course it is, but they are trying to touch a nerve
The only problem is, the way they are screwing over the Greatest Generation, there aren't many of them left. They can't afford their medications, they have shaky access to healthcare, their taxes are going through the roof, and for the few that continue to survive, waving Hitler in their faces only makes it more apparent that Monkeyboy ain't no FDR.

4. As I understood it, the Nazis wanted world supramacy...
Opposition to Allied presence in Germany was minimal among the civilian population.

Should I go on?

Rumsfeld's statements makes no sense.

6. oh, it was Rummy? okay...
gosh, what can I say! his statements are ALWAYS the worst - even above W's (because W's are very scripted where as Rummy's are off the cuff mostly), man, what a stretch and twist of history.

thanks for the views, I appreciate seeing what others felt.
