To those who say "stay the course," or say that we need to stay there until we stabilize the country, or that it would "dishonor" those who have already died if we were to redeploy to the periphery before "the job is done," I have a simple answer:

Or, "stay what course"? What's the strategy? How will we know when we've "won"? What are our objectives? What can the U.S. reasonably expect to do on its own and not depend on someone else to do (e.g., the Iraqis instituting their own government acceptable to the neocons that puts fundamentalist Christians in power)?

The devil, as always, lurks in the details. Meaningless catch-phrases don't a course of action make. Even when they're repeated over and over again.
