Cavuto discussing a 3rd Bush Term
with Fred Barnes. They are picking his cabinet! Unfrigging believable!!

How much more of this will we have to put up with. I know I should never turn on Fox but sometimes I think it's important to know what they are thinking.

Well now I do. THey are talking about a third term for BUsh and speculating on who he will have in his cabinet.

Joe Lieberman for Sec of State. I am not making this up.

I wonder if they are floating this as some kind of trial baloon.

1. Next thing you know they'll be acting like a 60+% disapproval rating
is not a hindrance in an election.

Have the mentioned the 22nd Amendment yet and how he'd get around that?

That is just insane.

7. I came in in mid discussion
and don't know how they got around the little pesky 22nd ammendment. Probably change the constitution or better yet, just cancel elections since they would just interfer with the business of keeping 'Merica safe.

Dick Cheney would replace Rumsfeld as Sec of Defense.

They talked like all of this was a good thing.

I am feeling a bit sick right now.

14. He wasn't elected the first time around he was appointed by the SC
I can see it already playing on Faux news.

15. So the first time around
was a freebie. Only the next two will count. I suspect they will probably be able to convince the SCOTUS that this is indeed what they did by intervening in 2000. Ted Olsen can easily argue that. Appointed is NOT the same as actually being elected.

Bush's base will love this.

17. Don't think you won't start hearing Rush and Insanity start pimping this
theory around mid 2007. I can see it being a major freep talking point in 2007. He wasn't elected he was appointed or something to that affect.

5. Fred Barnes is the biggest ass, bar none, of anyone in public life.
And he has some serious competition in Limbaugh, Hannity, Santorum, etc.

6. They were talking about his article this morning on Washington Journal
and yes, his article said that if the little monkey were to move people a round... fire rumsfeld, send cheney to the pentagon andy card to treasury and replace snotty scotty with melman.. it would be like setting bush up for a 3rd term. From watching the show and listening to the callers, shuffeling WH staff positions is not going to get the job done.

12. Ok so it's not
really Bush who would be Pres. Just keep his incompetently scary cabinet and keep us sliding downward into Hell.

Well, Bush is pretty much just a figurehead anyway so I suppose this is quite possible.

So we get Allen and then everybody else stays the same. Wonderful

16. Just to clarify for some...not an actual third term...
He is talking about shaking up Bush's cabinet and white house advisors, and resurrecting moribund Bush proposals...the equivelent according to Barnes of a third term

This isn't a Bush third term, if it was, many more people would be killed, and more laws would be broken

22. Perhaps this could be
something the Dems should make some noise about.

This is what the GOP is planning, not just more of the same in terms of policy but more of the same in terms of people in charge. Ugh. THe thought that Cheney's face could be around for another term should be enough to motive even the laziest Democrat or Independent to get out an vote.

MOre of the same is not good enough.

25. Well....
I can't imagine new people coming in being any worse than what we have now, so if we're stuck with this disaster of a President for two more years, it wouldn't hurt if he brought in fresh blood that actually had an understanding of what "competency" means.

They would love to get that amendment overturned so their little tin Jesus could be dictaor for life and cause Armageddon so they could git raptured.

They don't bother to consider he'd be running against Bill Clinton.

If you had bothered to read the posts in the thread you'd realize that the OP's description of what wss being discussed was, albeit unintentionally, misstaken. No one is seriously discussing chimpy getting an actual third term.

sheesh.
