2. Normally, I wouldn't bother at this point in the cycle
However, I'll vote for Feingold just to let the wimps in the DLC know about it.

7. Warner was called the Joe Lieberman of 2008 race at recent AIPAC meeting.

2008's Joe Lieberman

Jewish activist voters appear to be stepping gingerly into the 2008 Democratic presidential race as they size up candidates who plan to take on front-runner Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in the primaries. At last week's American Israel Public Affairs Committee, former Virginia Gov. Mark Warner won kudos for his comments, with several insiders suggesting that he is the "Joe Lieberman" in the race--a moderate Democrat who strongly supports Israel. "They like Hillary, but not to the exclusion of Warner," said one attendee. "Warner has their attention and he was pretty popular," he added.

Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 09:00 PM by Pithy Cherub
No national security experience and thinks investigating how we got into Iraq should not be a focus of attention. That says all you need to know about his commander in chief capability, but alas he has a passport and can project manage, but 0 creds in the foreign policy realm. :eyes:

21. What he has done for Virginia has been very impressive.
His approval ratings there are very impressive. He is a pretty green campaigner but he has some time to work that out.

8. Dailykos explains why Gore not on list, if you read the kos link.
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 07:42 PM by flpoljunkie
As to the inevitable "where's Gore" crowd, you know the deal -- when Gore announces he's interested in 2008, I'll race MyDD to be the first to do a new straw poll with his name on the list. Until then, he's a fantasy candidate and I'm not including fantasy candidates on this list.

17. Kos polls are predicable and worthless as far as I am concerned.
It's obvious certain candidates are Kos and his usually posters favorites and they're votes represent a very small portion of the voting public. Some candidates are immediately set up to be ridiculed and no matter what they do or what they achieve they aren't given a chance-others can time and again vote against our ideals, but let them one time do something that,1. gets back at Bush,2. talks real tough and angry,3.or bucks the whole political system and denounces others who try to work within the system, 4. appears to be a maverick when in fact they are also pandering for attention and votes, and the Kos crowd goes wild with excitement.
As I said, Kos polls are worthless, unless of course, you want to figure out from the four criteria listed who Kos likes.

March MyDD Straw Poll

by Chris Bowers, Tue Mar 21, 2006 at 12:42:04 AM EST

The March straw poll is up. Go vote. I have added "other" to the list of options, which hopefully will satisfy the Gorebots. If that isn't good enough, then they can read the TAP cover story on Gore, written by Ezra Klein.

This poll will close in 48 hours, so if you want to vote, do it now. I shortened the voting period because, a few weeks ago, I started realized that the straw polls here and on Dailykos were actually making news outside the blogosphere. By shortening the voting period, I hope to cut down on poll stuffing, which in the past I have openly tolerated (even encouraged). I figure that if we are going to make news, we better at least try to be accurate, even if accuracy in the news isn't what it used to be.

Also, you can vote in the Dailykos straw poll here. Also, Dailykos has leadership approval polls up on Dean, Reid, and Pelosi. Vote in all of them.

Go vote in the MyDD straw poll. I will have updates on the poll, including breakdowns of past results, over the next two days.

To vote: http://www.demochoice.org/dcballot.php?poll=200603

Latest results:

Round 10

Feingold 622 (53.1%)

Clark 215 (18.4%)

Warner 200 (17.1%)

Other 134 (11.4%)

None of these 8

My DD uses an IRV (Instant runoff vote) voting systsem.

20. This poll has some serious problems
- You can vote multiple times (though you have to wait awhile - possibly leaving and coming back)
- Both dKos and mydd have a niche of the electorate that is totally unrepresentative of any segment of the population. That they were intensely pro-Dean in 2004 (and were in fact paid) and in Kos's case is still fighting those battles likely keeps some people away.

22. so its a race between Feingold and Clark?
With Internet users anyway, we all know its going to become a Hillary vs Feingold/Clark in the actual primaries. How did a former Republican (admitted by her own husband in his book)even get that many votes?

I voted Clark, amazing to see Feingolds numbers shooting up with every poll
