Ed Schultz's Take On Troops In Iraq Till 2008 For The Next President....
to deal with -----

Ed says that it is a political ploy. Have the Democratic presidential candidate for '08 be asked the following question:

If elected president will you pull the troops out of Iraq. If the candidate says - yes - the Repugs say that he is a "cut and run" candidate and soft on terrorism. If he says - no - his Democratic constituency damn's him.

2. They don't do anything without considering how to apply it to politics...
I say finish the job that you start, Bush* You get to spend the country dry and then walk away. Leaving it for someone else is his modus operandi.

3. The answer is "do you want to continue the disastrous Bush policy?"
When you continue to do the same stupid thing again and again and somehow expect a different result, you are insane.

4. This supposes that the public mood will still be wishy-washy in 08
I doubt that the Iraq war will have much support by then.

5. 'cut and run' is an advertising ploy, not foreign policy
Edited on Tue Mar-21-06 07:23 PM by ixion
that it is allowed to even stand as a rebuttal is sheer idiocy, and shows the level of biased debate that those of us in the 'reality-based' community face. :-(

Geez, how hard is it? It was an ILLEGAL INVASION. THERE IS NO WAR. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. THERE WERE NO WMDs. I mean, how hard is that to understand?

6. How is it "cut and run" after 5+ years of war at that point?
Especially given that most people have already lost patience in Iraq. The only thing that has come from this conflict beyond death and destruction are muted 30 second clips of Saddam Hussein dressed up nicely in a courtroom.

7. Honest answer......
"When the previous administration invaded Iraq and destroyed civilian controls, America became responsible for Iraqi innocents. I will not allow innocent women and children to be raped, tortured, and murdered. If I'm confident that innocents will be safe if we draw down our troops, I'll bring troops home. If, on the other hand, I'm convinced that those innocents will be subjected to unspeakable horrors, then our troops will stay".

Look, this White House is now working the time clock until they can unload this disaster onto the lap of the next President....Democrat or republican. Their Iraq war is the perverbial Snickers bar in the swimming pool. They know it, Americans of all political stripes know it, and the world knows it. 30% of the American public just refuses to publicly admit it at this point.

The fact of the matter is, is that Bush has created a catastrophe that will take years, and trillions of dollars to repair. There just aren't any easy fixes.

Sadly, all one had to do back in 2000 was to read about ol' Dubya's life story. Once you did, you could see train wrecks coming if he was elected. The dude creates disasters where ever he goes, and his daddy's buddies have always bailed his sorry ass out. With immature and irresponsible losers like that, history almost always repeats itself. Think deadbeat, idiotic, alcoholic, brother-in-law.

Except this time George has screwed up so badly, daddy and his buddies simply don't have the resources to put everything back together. But guess who does?

You can make your check out to: Internal Revenue Service

8. That only works - if folks support the war.
And if folks don't get a little concerned that bush - with three years left - has just declared that under know circumstances does he plan to remove troops while he is in his office.

Personally I think the above mentioned will make this moot as a "ploy" several years from now.

9. It must simply be reframed as cleaning up his mess.
The Democrats need to pull up their socks, step up, and speak loudly and often. I'm so sick of the Republican pie-holes out there yakking incessantly.
