2. before Nov '06 drawdown in Iraq and bombing of Iran
can't change administrations in a Time o' WAR after all

:sarcasm:

Iraq will be declared a success like Afghanistan was. And now that the Christian isn't being put to death in Afghanistan the masses of amurikans will once again totally forget that counrty.

3. I believe you are right about that, but the drawdown of troops
won't have any relation, IMO, to what is happening on the ground in Iraq. It will have much more to do with the November elections. It might play OK with the Republican "base", but most Americans are going to see it for what it is, propaganda.

4. If we "drawdown", won't that make those who are still there
more vulnerable? I think they should all go, not just drip, drip, drip...if that is the plan anyway.

5. For sure.
No matter what the conditions are in Iraq, Bush is going to declare victory and start pulling out in time for the midterms. There is no doubt about it.

7. I agree....and this is why the Dems need to be asking...
...cogent questions NOW and commenting on this issue.

Someone needs to point out the blatant hypocrisy and irresponsibility of decreasing troops
during a civil war. I agree that all troops should be pulled now. We're making things worse.

However, Junior has repeatedly said--and continues to say--that we will not leave until the job
is finished. He is adamant about that and he's probably said it more than a thousand times since
his failed war began. Given his rhetoric, no one should allow him to draw down troops when the
war is more deadly and the violence is greater than ever.

If this bastard really means what he says--then drawing down troops would be contrary to his own words. He needs to be held responsible for his words.

If Junior wants to decrease troops close to the election--just to win votes for his Congressional buddies--then the Dems need to be screaming about how contrary that is to Junior's previously stated goals.

8. I don't think GWB gives a flying F about the midterms, I really don't.
He's gearing up to put Jebbie in the WH, and that's all that matters to the Neocons right now.
