Hackett Supporters Attack Cindy Sheehan

Former Dem political strategist Tim Russo and his friends at BuckeyeStateblog.com bash Cindy Sheehan's recent visit to Akron. They imply her campaign is only to serve her own personal interests and suggest someone buy her a timeshare so she can go away.

BTW, this is the same group that fed the smear campaign about Sherrod Brown. Despicable.

I wouldn't call them "Hackett supporters"- that's not fair to Hackett. These guys are gravy trainers, venal sharpies out for their own cause and no one elses.

They are well known in Ohio, having come from another busted campaign.

A group of us had breakfast. She adores Paul Hackett. We had a lovely chat over scrambled eggs and sausages.

that's for certain. It's hard to figure out whose cause they're helping, other than the GOP.

I know you think Sherrod is a saint and anyone who disagree with you is evil - but if you check out the BSB it's pretty easy to see we are helping lots of Democrats in lots of other races - with a healthy dose of GOPer bashing too.

Could you clarify Russo's "support" for Paul Hackett? Calling him a "big fat nobody" doesn't seem very supportive.

I'd like to make a comment or two here.

First I would like to say that BSB much like DU is a community blog - everyone is free to post there. Just create and account and have at it.

I would also like to point out, without wanting to start a flame war that i disagree strongly that any smear campaign has or was or is being run against Sherrod Brown, in fact quite the opposite.

Finally, Russo is free to post on his own thoughts as are you and we are all free to disagree with him. On this particular topic I understand where he is going with it, and dont fully agree - I indeed thought sheehan was worthy of consideration of woman of the year last year for busting open the whole Iraq discussion. What was posted isn't a "THEY" at all - it was one posters opinion.

Maybe you prefer everyone to tow the line agree on everything and live in an echo chamber, me, I am proud to host a blog where people can post what they think and debate it freely without it getting too nasty.
