a great deal or fair amount of public concern on every issue is in the range of 60% or higher; over 80% on about half the issues:

Gallup Poll. March 13-16, 2006. N=1,000 adults nationwide. MoE ± 3.

"Next I'm going to read a list of problems facing the country. For each one, please tell me if you personally worry about this problem a great deal, a fair amount, only a little, or not at all. How much do you personally worry about . . . ?"

1. Drug use is #4?
We need a rational debate on the subject. We really do. We need to seriously consider legalization or decriminalization of marijuana, first of all. We need a real discourse on the difference between use and abuse in a language that most people can understand.

It bothers me that this is so high in comparison to poverty and the economy, which contribute a lot to the drug problem in the first place.
