Asia Times' Notes and Quotes :)

http://www.atimes.com/

US senators Charles Schumer and Lindsey Graham, just returned from China, say they will delay until at least September a vote on their proposed bill to put high tariffs on Chinese imports to the US, stating they would only bring up the bill if they don't see "real progress" being made by then toward a stronger yuan.

"We come back from China feeling very good ... we believe if we hadn't introduced this strong medicine, nothing ever would have happened. But we also believe that now that we're on the path to progress, we don't have to fire this so-called nuclear weapon, but can hold it in abeyance as we carefully watch and wait and expect continued progress."
- Senator Charles Schumer
