Bush spending huge amounts of money to try to bribe soldiers
The Bush administration, in an effort they say, to counteract a "hostile media environment", has spent a record 1.62 billion dollars, over the past 2 and a half years, to try to bribe young men and women to join the army and go to either Iraq or Afghanistan.

Democrat George Miller calls this spending "unprecedented, and a little disturbing". "For the president to do this, in a time where we have huge budget deficits, is really outrageous".

To me, this is not only freaking insane, it's downright lunacy. What Bush is trying to do is bribe young men and women to sign up for a branch of the service, and have them go over to the killing fields in either Iraq or Afghanistan, and die. If he wants people to go over there, send the Bush twins, or the neo-con chickenhawks.

2. We still have money left?
I'm frankly surprised. After all the looting that's gone on with the public treasury, I assumed it was all gone.

Thanks for posting, KB.

3. I suspect that's s.o.p. for this admin. whenever it wants anything.
It would surely explain why they spend so much time attending "campaign" fundraising events.

I realize it's our taxpayer money, of course, being abused in this despicable case, but I can only imagine what the GOP's purposes for their perpetual fundraising must be.

5. I served at $65.00 a month
That was 1959 when there was a draft.

Wanna cut expenses in Iraq? Bring back the draft right after the midterm elections.

Yes Virginia, There will be a draft.
