6. It was a really dense interview -
luckily, Ed posts audio of all his big interviews on his website, so it'll be up by tonight or latest, tomorrow.

They talked about immigration, port security, the environment, energy independence, veterans rights...more too. My recall is terrible. It was a lot of meat packed into 20 minutes.

13. JK kicked ass on immigration.
Said we need to start looking at it with some common sense.

He hit all the right points (with me anyway). Got to enforce the laws - but he emphasized enforcing the laws on hiring, and he mentioned that some employers skirt the law so they can exploit people.

He asked what are you going to do with all the 11 million people who are here now because the issue's been sidestepped for so long? He supported Kennedy's plan and described what it entails and why it's wrong to characterize it as amnesty.

That was all just on immigration. He did quite well on the other subjects too.

7. JK talked about how immigration was a problem because we had allowed it
to happen over a long period of time, and that no one should be rewarded for illegal behavior. I think he meant blanket amnesty.

He also made a point of saying that what the Dems were saying yesterday in their national security roll out was what he had recommended in 2004. Good for him!

16. "because we had allowed it to happen" excuse me?
When the time comes that somebody has to get screwed, the rich bastards are always there to bring the poor and the victimized up to plate for the price to be paid.

Yea, it's a bipartisan deal for all too smug or ignorant to know what has gone on and what is going to happen next. The deal is of a divide and conquer nature, them needing to stymie the growing majority that has part of south of the border accent to it. They want the working folks to think other working folks stole their opportunities. But then anybody that was paying attention knew all along it was certain type of scum that emanates from the District of Columbia

15. He did a good job.
He touched all the main points on the Kennedy-McCain bill that were pointed out in the Judicary Committee on Monday. There is no blanket amnesty, there is the beginning of a process that puts people who broke the law to get here into the end of the line for legal immigration. (We can't reward bad behavior.) IT did touch on the hypocrites in the business community who hire illegal workers and then proclaim how much they hate 'those people.'

Strong interview. I recommend it. He answered all the question put to him in a straight-away fashion.
