7. No. The Democratic Party is a party of inclusion...
And all of those people were privileged white males, many of them slaveowners.

And he provided both a work program and a housing program.

14. So many good ones to choose from
You could call it Elbridge Gerry Party bu it does sound like a rock band... Button Gwinnett could appeal to wemon...No? Francis Lightfoot Lee sounds so romantic and so honorable and so sothern... John Penn Might be confused with the arch enemy of the Right Shaun Penn. But my favorite is Rufus King How could you go wrong with that. The right wing would ti-pity toe around that just because they smelled a trap.

16. A neat idea, and I wouldn't mind being a hyphenated Democrat...
Jeffersonian-Democrat sounds good, but Jefferson was a Democrat, FDR was a Democrat, JFK was a Democrat, I am a Democrat, and always will be. Being a target of the filthy neo-cons is a badge of honor. When their names are listed with Himmler, Goring, and Goebbels, the Democratic Party, the world's oldest and most honorable political organization, will still be going strong.

17. Whatever you'd like. I prefer to remain a Democrat, as I have been since
1972. If you feel a need for a different name, knock yourself out-hell thats what being a Democrat is all about! But, as for me, I'm a Democrat, not a "Frankliner" or "SamAdamaser" and most certainly NOT a Hamiltonian (Hamilton was the forerunner of todays nutcase conservative Republicans so that choice wasn't in my top 5 million).

But if it works for you, knock yourself out.

for Jacob Broom.

SWEEP THEM OUT!

In the science-fiction novels of the Dune Universe, Broom is an ancestor of the God Emperor Leto II.

Broom thought the president should serve for life... and i'd agree in the case for *moron as long as it was a penal sentence for life.

22. Well, if we're going to use names from original signers
A definite "no" to William Few -- the party of Few...

But Jacob Broom's a possibility. We could add a Colbertism to the name and call it "Nature's Broom Party -- we've got the moral fiber to clean up D.C."

26. Change isn't necessarily good
There's no point in change for the sake of change. Just look at all these "reforms" we've had.

The name "Democratic" is just fine.
