Was the 2004 Election Stolen?
Listen to BBC investigative reporter and election hijacking expert Greg Palast discuss the fraudulent 2004 election with Robert Kennedy and Mike Papantonio on their Air America Radio program tomorrow, June 3, from 5 PM to 7 PM Eastern time.

From Rolling Stone

Was the 2004 Election Stolen?

Republicans prevented more than 350,000 voters in Ohio from casting ballots or having their votes counted -- enough to have put John Kerry in the White House. BY ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR.

he extent of the GOP's effort to rig the vote shocked even the most experienced observers of American elections. ''Ohio was as dirty an election as America has ever seen,'' Lou Harris, the father of modern political polling, told me. ''You look at the turnout and votes in individual precincts, compared to the historic patterns in those counties, and you can tell where the discrepancies are. They stand out like a sore thumb.''

2. I think you need help
with your sentence structure.

Move 'was' to the middle and drop the question mark.

5. Get a sense of humor!
The statement was obviously intended as a joke about the title of this thread. That is, instead of it being a question, he/she made it a statement of fact.

4. 'Plan to read the full RFK Jr. piece later today. But my instinct
tells me Rove, Blackwell, et al stole the Ohio election, and with it the presidency from Kerry-Edwards.

Bush cheats to win.

That makes him a loser.

8. exactly! * has been/is a loser.
Failed @ everything he ever attempted. I would guess the Texas governorship was also stolen or at least came w/ a stench.

17. Hi, MH1. It is good. Just finished reading it. I thought it gave the
RFK piece the attention and level of respect it deserved.

What wasn't as clear is why some of the other problems Kennedy found were based on "weaker" evidence, and it created a strange kind of hierarchy of which suspicious GOP conduct was more "weak" or strong than others.

I found Kennedy's piece to be understandbly partisan, but not at all laced with any unreasonable or "weak" claims. I'd like to see the weak claims that actually WERE omitted from his article!

My guess is that they might have been valid, but that there wasn't enough zip to them to pass legal scrutiny.

Good tip! Thank you.

7. Well, there is certainly enough questionable stuff to warrant an
investigation. An independent prosecutor would be appropriate. Maybe Fitzgerald can suggest somebody }( .

11. How would Republicans react if the fraud shoe were on the other foot?
Edited on Fri Jun-02-06 05:58 PM by StopThePendulum
What if there were a Democratic Secretary of State who was also the leader of Kerry's campaign?

What if that SoS went out of his or her way to stymie the vote in Republican suburbs and/or rural areas by banning the distribution of campaign literature, including the notorious "voter guides", in or within 1000 feet of a church?

What if this Democratic SoS intentionally gave these voters misleading directions to their polling places, so that the voters couldn't find their proper polling spot, for the sole purpose of suppressing the Republican vote?

What if that same SoS put too few--and malfunctioning--voting machines in suburban/rural areas where he or she knew the electorate was predominantly evangelical? What if the malfunctioning machines caused long lines in these polling places, causing white, conservative voters to wait for hours, very far from home?

What if the SoS decreed that a rural or suburban voter had to disclose his or her personal information, including bank account numbers, credit card numbers, and SSN's just to be able to vote?

What if this SoS had connections with a database company with close ties to the Democratic Party, and hired that company to purge voter rolls, which ends up kicking Republicans off the rolls?

I'll tell you how the repukes would react if the shoe were on the other foot. They'd be screaming at the top of their lungs -- ELECTION FRAUD!! ELECTION FRAUD!! THE DEMOCRATS ARE TRYING TO STEAL THE ELECTION!!!

18. That is EXACTLY the right question.
Just look at how they acted in Washington state over the governor's race. A judge had to tell them to cease and desist.
