1. Nobody is spinning anything. There is no doubt that Gore has been a

leader on this issue.

This incessant infighting has to stop, but it has to stop coming from ALL SIDES.

Unfortunately, I am probably dreaming if I think this can happen and that people can promote their candidate rather than slamming others.

2. Bravo for VP Gore
I hope that he continues this fight. We, as Democrats, need all hands on deck to fight this. There are people dying because of this unnecessary and costly war. America should withdraw and we should be pressuring all Democrats in Congress to back this.

I welcome all comers to this fight. It is about America, it is about people who are dying and being horribly wounded and scared for life and about the rape of America's values. That is something that all Democrats should agree on.

3. GOP Hopefuls for '08 Breaking from Bush
One thing i forgot... Why was Bush pushing the Iraq war again? :nuke:

... and his little buddies like Allen and Frist now distancing themselves from Bush on the war policy. Why you think so? because they know something's wrong. Sheessh... but then again, these presidential hopefools (oppss... sorry... typo error) i mean hopefuls, for sure, got something on their sleeves.

see link: http://www.votersdomain.com/article.php?aid=1635&tid=185&from=search

Bush's war-freak style might pull them down from their target... winning the White House. Gee, how about those soldiers who laid their lives for the country? Bush can take of that... how much does the medal of honor cost?

9. No he meant this one
He was naming all the Democratic hopefuls for 2008 that voted for the Iraq invasion and he said Al Gore voted for it.

7. I am a BIG fan of Vice-President Gore, but there are TWO areas........
.....where he disappointed me. BOTH indirectly, at minimum, helped us into Iraq.

One, he ran away from President Clinton, only the best campaigner and politician in my lifetime, which allowed the race to be close enough to steal.

And, Two, he refused to, as President of the Senate, allow a challenge to the results of the electoral college, which would have definitely have shown that the election WAS stolen.

If either one of those decisions had been decided in the opposite direction of where it ended up, and we would be proud of being under the peace and prosperity in the second term of President Al Gore!!

11. It is obvious the man speaks with wisdom and knowledge.
I was not aware of this 2002 speech. My reading indicates a cautious approach to war if it is absolutely necessary to undertake it- a possible long stay in Iraq and scaling back some of the power Bush was requesting.

He also mentions how this vote was used to gain a political advantage for the administration and the disadvantaged position it placed his fellow Democrats in. VP Gore understood the dilemma and he wanted it known. He does not seem to harbor any ill will towards those who were compelled to voted for the IWR. I wish others here could follow his example.

I have noting against the former VP of this country. I do not try to spin anything. I do however, resent those that use VP Gore's position on the Iraqi War and use this against other Democrats that found themselves in entirely different circumstances and may have reached different conclusions or expressed different opinions when deciding their votes. These comparisons have gotten so bad, the press has begun making an issue of this.
