Help! Bowen is behind in polls - pass this info on!
Edited on Mon Jun-05-06 12:50 AM by Liberty Belle

Visit DebraBowen.com today!

Just 48 hours to go! With the latest statewide polling showing the race for Secretary of State to be extremely close, please do your part to help us spread the word -- forward these "Top 5 reasons to vote for Debra Bowen" to everyone you know!

We want to make things easier for you. So here are the Top 5 reasons that you should vote for Debra Bowen for Secretary of State on Tuesday:

Debra Bowen is the only candidate for Secretary of State endorsed by the California Democratic Party, picking up an overwhelming 80% of the recent delegate vote -- the highest percentage of any other Democrat running statewide this year.

Debra has received every single newspaper endorsement in the state -- including a recent endorsement from LA Weekly, which wrote that Debra "would be the secretary of state from central casting," not to mention the San Francisco Chronicle which called Debra "the clear choice in the Democratic Primary"

Debra has a 5-point plan for cleaning up California elections, which she'll start working on from day 1 as Secretary of State.

As Chair of the Senate Elections Committee, Debra has the experience we need to do the job. Ever since she was first elected to the State Legislature in 1992, Debra Bowen has been a pioneer in government reform, consumer protection and privacy rights, environmental conservation, and open government.

Debra has led the charge against the certification of the flawed Diebold electronic voting machines -- holding hearings, taking testimony from experts, and standing up to Secretary of State McPherson's bad decisions.
So these are the Top 5 reasons -- we could go on and on, but you get the picture.

Here's the bottom line: Please vote for Debra Bowen for Secretary of State on Tuesday, June 6th!

Sincerely,

Sandra Lloyd-Jones
Campaign Manager
Debra Bowen for Secretary of State

P.S. Please forward this email to everyone you know, and share our "Top 5" list with other California voters who will be heading to the polls on Tuesday!

5. Here's one.

"Ortiz, a state senator from Sacramento, is leading Sen. Debra Bowen, D-Marina Del Rey, 25 percent to 19 percent, with 56 percent undecided, in the Democratic race for secretary of state."

6. Oh, God, Ortiz is clueless on electronic voting. Vote for DEBRA BOWEN!
It would be tragic if people vote for Ortiz just because of her Hispanic name, in ignorance of the issues--which I fear is what's happening with this dismaying pre-election poll.

HELP PAY FOR BOWEN ADS ON HISPANIC STATIONS! Here's how to make a credit card donation right now on-line:

"We need your help to get (the Bowen ads) placed. Whatever you can give will help: Follow the link to 'Valley Grassroots for Democracy'
https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/entity/9271
and make a donation ending in $.06 (for example $50.06 or $500.06 -- whatever you want to give). The $.06 will let Valley Grassroots for Democracy know that your contribution is to go to the Bowen ads in Spanish.

It's real easy! Do it now!

12. Already Done!
I hit the polls this morning...voting for Bowen was a no-brainer. I wanted to do a little due diligence and check Ortiz' site, but like thatsrightimirish said, she doesn't seem to have one.
