When it was a
shock... and even seemed unprecedented, perhaps inappropriate, maybe even
risky...
to say "The President Lied..."?
Fortunately, most of the world has accepted reality; so now the "Truth" about the Bush Administration's mendacity is expressed in vast numbers of articles, forums, blogs and liberal websites, with no holds barred.
Also, since our fearless leader has lost his "popularity", even the Press will occasionally venture into the realm of honesty by pointing out a Bush Deception though usually ever so carefully. Though the Internet is rife with discerning reports... Even a phrase so limited (with quotes) as this: "Bush Lied" on Google returns the better part of two million hits. :+
Of course, the point of this post was that I just had a flash of nostalgia. For just a moment, on seeing the statement "...it is vital to remember that this is an administration that has been proven to lie daily, brazenly and egregiously.", I thought to myself "wasn't that kind of statement once avoided out of respect for the Presidency?".
What was surprising is that I can only barely remember having such consideration (respect, hesitancy,...). Younger people may never know such a respect ever even existed.
The world has changed. (...in oh, so many ways; feel free to add similar observations)
Remember... Bush Always Lies... Always...
