11% reporting (absentees) Busby (D) down 43-51... did GOP bet on earlies?
I saw where the national GOP strategy this fall relies on the absentee ballot since they think discouraged conservatives and republicans will stay home on election day.
early results are saying that with 11% reporting (all absentee ballots), GOP is up 51-43... did GOP put all bets on earlies? if so, this could be good news.

3. I think absentee ballots traditionally trend Republican. . .
so the election's still wide open. The LA Times has already called a few elections, based on exit polls, but not this one -- not even considered in early election reporting.

6. funny because Rs claims Dems cheat via absentee ballots
It has been my experience that Rs always complain about the very thing they are doing themselves.

10. Yes, beware of absentee voting
The Repugs have targeted these votes since at least the 2000 election.

One of the things they do is to go after the inactive voter lists. Lot's of votes to steel there.

The other trick they use, especially in poor neighborhoods, is to find elderly, illiterate people to 'help' vote. The voter signs a legitimate ballot but they have no clue who they actually voted for. Repugs are pros at using absentee ballots to steal votes.

4. They were counting on a 10K lead in absentees
From The Chairman ...
NRCC Chair Tom Reynolds (NY) said earlier today that, based on an analysis of absentee returns in CA 50, ex-Rep. Brian Bilbray (R) held about a 10K vote lead. Reynolds added, however, that he wouldn’t make any predictions at this early stage.

If LOBBYIST Bilbry wins, that's all we'll hear about tomorrow.. Well, that and the bogus senate vote taking place.
