Am I the only one? Does anyone else do this?

Whenever I see Coulter being interviewed, the left side of my face squints up in a cynical smirk. My mind is focused on trying to find The Tell. The lingering idea blasting through my brain is, "c'mon... this has GOTTA be a bit. There's no way she's serious."

She will say or do whatever she needs to to make a buck. The right wingers were likely the first to pay any attention to her, so she sided with them.

When her ability to do them any good has passed, or when she is no longer deemed worthy of the association, she will be tossed aside like all other Republican concubines, and that will be that. Just ask Katherine Harris (C-FL), she can provide you with more details.

She was Pat Robertson's 3rd fiddle on the 700 Club (Kinchlow has always been Sidekick No. 1). Then, I don't know the full story, as, even when I was a right-winger I never paid 700 much attention, but she left the show. A few years later, I'm listening to a syndicated radio show (maybe Gil Gross, maybe Gene Burns, it was back in the late 80s/early 90s) and she's sitting in. And she was just LAYING INTO Robertson, conservatives, etc., you could call it a proto-Malloy rant. Given that I was "in the life," at the time, I thought she was such an obnoxious jerk about it. Of course, now I'm curious as to whatever happened to her. She seemed to fall off the map, maybe she was ahead of her time. After all, this was still the "LIBERALISM SUCKS" era.

My point is, I think Coulter's due for a major flip job along the same lines. She's already on a downward spiral with the Florida vote fraud thing (I seriously doubt she had legal jeopardy in mind when she groupied up with these weasels), I can honestly see it happening.

Now, whether she could pull it off is another bag of chips altogether. Unlike Danuta, unlike Arianna, unlike Brock, unlike even Ed Schultz (for whom the jury's still out), Annie's got a canyonesque hole to crawl out of. Liberals and progressives are a forgiving bunch but they ain't stupid. I have friends who still think that Brock's scum, even in light of Media Matters.

But... then again... I could be wrong...

...reach for the remote and change the channel. The only time I'll sit through her tripe is if she's on the Maher panel. Otherwise, she's off the damned screen. I won't waste time on that level of stupid hate. It's not good for the heart or the soul.

If she looked like dear Helen Thomas or Bella Abzug, they'd run from her like rats from a sinking ship.
