A feather in the hat for Bush but a bomb in the pocket for Iraqis?
Will the murder of Zarqawi make things better or worse in Iraq? Perhaps it will lift Bush's political fortunes at home temporarily but the people of Iraq may not be so fortunate. The Shia are now in charge of the new government. Zarqawi was a Sunni. The majority of the population around Baghdad are Sunni. Iran is populated by many Sunnis. Do they expect the Sunnis to surrender? I find that highly doubtful. The more likely scenario is that Zarqawi will be seen as a martyr and the violence may increase, rather than decrease. Let them wallow in their glory for now because tomorrow may bring another chapter?

2. But that would be over 5 million Sunnis...
That's more Sunnis than the entire US military... although granted many would be too young or too old to fight. However, that is enough to create a lot of problems if they were so inclined.

3. Thanks, kentuck
I was confused by your posting, so I looked up the stats. It didn't seem like a very high number/percentage to cause too much trouble for them.
