Anyone heard the Glenn Beck's commercial in AAR??
I am not crazy. Please someone tell me this was true. On my way home from work I heard Glenn Beck

announcing his show on Air America. Anyone noticed that? Isn't he a freeper? I don't think that is a good

idea. i think it was around 6 pm (Orlando time).

I don't know. It is like advertising Rosie O'Donnell's Gay cruise in an Evangelical Radio station when lots of evangelicals despise gay couples.

3. I was just wonder who the hell he was?
I like to think that the AAR listeners who turn on his show will quickly see that hs is a freeper (if that is indeed true.)

8. Hey
When the fuck did they get an AAR affiliate in Austin??

I used to live in austin...wish I coulda stayed, but the economy started sucking, and I ended up having to move back to Mommy in Pennsyl-fucking-vania. Damn, I wish I coulda stayed in Austin.

9. It's been up a while now. 1600. I have trouble getting it below the river
though. And it's not that good a station. They put Randi on tape delay and play Ed Schultz in her spot. I guess they bump someone somewhere else, but I haven't figured it out. Also, at odd times they play sporting events instead of their programming. So I rarely listen anymore. Randi was the main one I liked. I can't warm up to Schultz.

12. Crap
I lived in South Austin. I never woulda been able to get it.

Outside of University area and Tarrytown, what the hell did anywhere north of the river need with AAR?

Incidentally, I lived off East Oltorf, about 3 miles west of Montopolis, and about 1 mile east of IH35.

14. NW Austin is pretty liberal
DeLay redrew the state seats for the Republicans, and we've won both of them, too. I was president of a NW Democrats group, and we were one of the largest clubs in Austin. Even so, another group got upset with us and spun off. So the myth that there aren't liberals up here is busted.

16. Hmmm...Not In My Experience, Really
It seemed to me all the liberals were down south, and from University and Tarrytown.

All the MONEY...all the JOBS...and all the Repukes...seemed to be up north.

I mean, Williamson County is horrible...and they have been creeping into North Austin for a long time now, too.

Again, this comes at you with the full prejudice of a South Austin Bubba. John Kelso's da MAN!!! Hell, I miss him!!

7. His show isn't 'on' AAR
The ad is for his show on some cable station. They just bought ad time on AAR. (They are national spots.)

10. Don't worry about it too much
It might be irritating as all hell, but it's advertising dollars. Let the fools throw their money down a rat hole to keep AAR on the air. I get a big chimpy style smirk every time I hear the ad.

11. Think of it as money-laundering in reverse.
AAR can take the right wing's tainted money and clean it.

15. Some AAR stations use CNN Radio News service
These spots are part of the deal. Radio is a business after all, commercials pay the rent.

music and advertise some of your own programming as a counterweight! Even a nice, liberal public service announcement once in awhile!!!

19. CNN (aka Time Warner)'s money is green as anyone else's
yeah, I hate the ads too. But they're ads.

and I don't think anyone listening to AAR will be fooled into thinking Glenn Beck is anything but a filthy Nazi if they do tune in.

20. What we did here in Anchorage... was asked our AAR local station mgr..
..to please see if there were any better news serves available for the station here. We had CNN radio too, and a lot of progressives complained about it.

The station manager switched our local station over to Air America's own news service which is awesome! Very professional!

23. This is why corporations win
They control the game.

"Where is the spirit of the 60's?", I'll hear asked. It was bought out a long time ago.

I understand the need for money to stay in business, and ad money is a big way to do it. I'm just saying, that's why corporations control the planet.

talk about missing your target audience with your advertising $$$'s! At first I was pissed off having to listen to the a**hole, but now, I'm just as happy to think he's wasting his $$$ on these spots.

CNN ought to be ashamed of itself for giving this hate-monger a nightly platform.
