All hands on Deck - Net Neutrality
I'm not one of those that thinks it's a great idea to send all kinds of mail to Congress people on this that or the other thing as frankly I think the place is mostly been purchased and aren't paying much attention to the average worker today, and I'm not talking about just repukes. I've been watching our side of the isle sell out far too often to the money. Most of the time we're a pain in the ass causing them to have to dump all that crap out of their way in their e-mail boxes, and it's just cluttering up there area. But here's an exception and the reason why.

The exception...
The house killed the Markey amendment that would have fixed most of the coming discrimination (should the telcos have their way) in the so called pay as you play plan. The focus is now moving to the Senate. Wyden (D-OR) was strong on the floor today; (go Oregon)

http://www.blueoregon.com/2006/06/wyden_champions.html

and there is reason to get your bets down now if you've yet to pester on this one at the Senate.

The Reason Why
I'm detecting vertebrae sprouting all over the place. For example the vote in the house was way closer then anybody expected and very strong arguments were being made on the floor.

The vote on the inheritance tax was particularly telling. Monday it looked like a sure thing that they would eliminate 1 trillion of revenue generation (over the next decade) from 1/4 one one percent of the very richest multi-millionaires and billionaires in the country on inheritance tax; permanently. They lost 57-42. The repukes regrouped and tried to dump it for, I think five year limit and scaled back from 0% to pay a little, and they lost it again. Dems were strong both in arguments of commendation and in sticking together almost unanimously. This is nearly unheard of in resent years. I think Lieberham was the only defector (not 100% sure). In the end even some rupukes defected.

Net Neutrality vote is going to be close and I think we got their ear. I'm urging people to plug-in and pester your Senate reps. if you haven't done so. The repukes aren't in a great need of increasing internet charges in their pay as you play plan. The real push isn't about pay and we aren't playing. The fact is they don't like this uppity crowd out here in Net-world. The other fact is WE are the enemy, not the terrorists. There is nothing between total world domination by the neocomms but us. Rest assured the DLCer's aren't going to stop them. The press is dead. The sheeple drank the kool-aid. There are almost no real christians left. Either WE do it, take the party, and change the course of the nation or it won't get done. Rise up to protect the Net and equal access to all with equal voice to all. It's our greatest a tool, protect it.

Pester the Senate loud, pester them strong, take off the gloves. There is much at stake. If my read is correct they might listen this time.

NOTE: as it's late on the east coast I'm reserving the right to repost this in the morning also, so my appoligies in advace to the dupe.

Why are there three "K&R"s, but only two votes?
Has DU been Diebolded?

4. Keep in mind that growing bone is painful - but I BELIEVE we/they CAN
Remember in Harry Potter, when he broke his arm, and then the bad teacher cast a spell that made the bone disappear and he had to take a potion to regrow the bone in his arm? It was really painful!

But I BELIEVE we/they CAN grow some backbone!

Heartofthesiskiyou - When is the vote in the Senate?

8. Great post. Well done. We need to have net neutrality encoded into law...
...now. It is in the repubs best interest to thwart net neutrality because the dems are using the net so successfully to network. The dems in congress that donot defend net neutrality are cutting off their nose to spite their face. The will live to regret it.
