Tom Wilson (R-NJ) thanks troops for Zarqawi , takes cheap shot at Democrat
New Jersey GOP chair says Democratic state senator wanted Zarqawi to live

RAW STORY
Published: Thursday June 8, 2006

New Jersey Republican Chairman Tom Wilson released the following statement today:

"We owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women of our military for having eliminated one of the top masterminds of the Al Queda terrorist organization that was responsible for 9/11 and countless other murderous acts around globe. Their triumph marks a significant moment in the war against terror.

"However, this moment also provides a clear and compelling reminder of why Bob Menendez should not be sitting in the United States Senate. If Bob Menendez had his way, Zarqawi would still be leading a campaign of car bombings, assassinations, suicide attacks, kidnapping and beheadings in order to make Iraq a safe haven from which al Qaeda could continue its war against freedom and the American way of life. If Bob Menendez had his way, Mr. Zarqawi would be alive and plotting the next attack on America, Great Britain, Canada or who knows where."

2. Please forgive me if I'm missing something but...
if Zarqawi was such a mastermind of the Iraqui insurgency, wouldn't he be more useful...you know...alive? Just a thought.

5. And how many American lives were wasted to achieve this?
How many children will grow up fatherless, how many widows have lost their husbands....... husbands, wives and how many American families have been torn apart to kill one man who WAS NOT responsible for the attacks of 9/11? It seems to be that Bin Laden is STILL alive and laughing in our faces. But if the RepubliCONS want to crow about killing ONE MAN who's death will not phase the ongoing bloody warfare in Iraq one iota, then let them have their giggles. The RepubliCONS seem to forget that it is on THEIR hands that all this blood lies to begin with. I hope the American public isn't gullible enough to think that Zarqawi's death is going to change anything in Iraq. It will have probably have the opposite effect. He's now a martyr and the "insurgents" will want to fight all the harder to avenge his death.
I hope this smug bastard takes all of this into account before he opens his festering pie-hole again. But he's a RepubliCON, so there's little chance of that ever happening. :grr:

7. 40000 active armed insurgents of which 200 were led by Zarqawi
Perhaps the GOP are making too much of this death?
