Is there anything that can stop GWB from extending his reign in the
time of war? Seriously, what would stop him? He has shown total disregard for the Constitution with very little outrage from Congress or the public. Also, he is building concentration camps. Most likely for dissidents.

1. Nothing can stop him, nothing I tell you.
We should all hide in the Democraticunderground high security bunker so we don't get rounded up for the concentration camps.

10. You joke, but explain how to stop them. They control literally everything
except the internet and Congress is working on that as we write. I know it sounds paranoid but the government currently meets Hamilton's definition of tyranny. If San Diego is a test of how well we will do come November, don't expect miracles. They tighten the noose daily.

2. There is absolutely NOTHING stopping the WH Idiot from.............
.....officially declaring martial law, doing away with all elections, and in general turning this society into an official dictatorship. Everything the WH Idiot and his snarling side kick needs for a dictatorship is in place and will require only his signature or word. But don't forget we will be safe from terrorists and if you complain you're unAmurikan.:sarcasm:

3. Not to Worry
The apparatus to continue governing, without physically being in the White House is already in place. It's not the President that
IMPLEMENTS policy......it's the bureaucrats. Besides, I'm convinced
Bill and Hillary have sold themselves to the allure of fame and fortune,
especially Bill C. All the buddying up with papa Bush and the rest of the family, has assured that whatever the Trilateral Commission wants,
the Commission will get. I believe the Clinton's have cut a back room deal....Hillary won't interfere with the overall scheme of things,
in exchange for becoming the next President. Every criticism of current
White House policy is just for show. And all the players understand that. Really, how often does she or Bill really go after Jr.???

4. We get what most vote for. People just do not care I guess.
I hope they wake up before it is all gone. When they pull up the draw bridge and we are all living in shacks out side the wall maybe people will see what a few of us were yelling about. Even the poor who voted for him will be with us on the out side looking in I fear. The Romanov's are back with us.Must be as I am sure George and Nick are brother's in their thinking. Born to rule and they know best as the country comes down around their ears. Romanov's kept it up for 300 years.

5. Dissidents... also spelled Residents...
At some point, the only thing that will stop him may be us... the p e o p l e. If the system works, the term limits will stop him; and his replacement won't be of like mind as voted on by the people (again, if the system still exists and is honest enough to work). Otherwise, it's up to the people to protest as required to restore our Democracy. Likewise with preventing him and the rest of the Republican anti-American leadership from doing anything else too extreme before the traditionally scheduled changes. In the end, though, the buck really stops... here... with us (despite the fact that never in our lives have we had such responsibility thrust upon us).

I'm afraid all of this ass scratching & finger sniffing by the spineless Dem leaders(?) isn't going to work in this situation. If we really want to save our Country, I'm afraid it's going to be up to us... WE THE PEOPLE ..... to do it.

7. Agree GWB is figurehead but why change? They deliberately
defy laws to see how far they can go. Why not this?

12. I used to think like you, but I figure they have to have at least a
passing likeness to democracy and Constitutional order, or else even the most rabid Bushbots will get uncomfortable.

8. No need for overt breaks.
They are instituting their fascist theocracy within the facade of the republic. There is no need to create a clear break from the traditional government, nor is Mr. Bush anything other than a sock puppet. He is easily replaced.

9. Democrats need to ask point blank what constitutes an end to the war.
We need to know how the war can end. By definition a "war on terror" can never end. Terror has been around as long as humans have and will always be around. Should we just concede Bush* will have unlimited "war powers" forever? I would think this would be a very basic question to be asked but have not yet heard it. IMO it is way past time to ask..
