I just watched the DVD of the 1972 documentary and highly recommend it. The sad facts about complete abuse to the Vietnamese people by our troops with the approval of their leaders can only be seen that the same story continues with this present war.

We need a new documentary of a number of sessions of our returning troops talking about what they have done. They can report their war crimes through hidden filters if need be, but their stories must get out.

It simply has to be done if we still respect the truth.

I've been hoping for a movie of the life of USMC Gen Smedley D. Butler and his role in saving the country from BFEE fascist dictatorship in the '30s. Talk to anybody and they don't even know who Butler was. Jeez, this guy should have his own national holiday for cryin' out loud.

In any event, The Corporation makes a passing reference to him and maybe someone will pick up the baton and run with it.

BTW, a great Labor Day movie to rent for the family is Matewan. Loved it.
