Rep. Curt Weldon, R-Pa: 'Jury is still out on WMD'
Someone must have slipped some LSD into Congressman Weldon's Kool-Aid.

http://www.delcotimes.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=16755452&BRD=1675&PAG=461&dept_id=18171&rfi=6

Weldon said he knows of four sites in Basra and Nasiriyah that have yet to be searched for biological or chemical weapons.

"I think the jury is still out on WMD," said Weldon, who also believes Saddam Hussein may have smuggled the weapons to Syria with Russian assistance prior to the March 2003 invasion.

1. Someone better go check on the jury.
If they've been gone this long, I suspect they got fed up and went home.

Its like these Repugs are lining up to be 'tool of the week.' Will the next cretin please come on down!

9. Sadly theres still some american people that actually believe WMD's are
still waiting to be found either in Iraq or smuggled across the border to Syria during the battle of Bagdad. I still see posts in supposed equal pro/con blogs and even in adult chat rooms where bushbots still claim WMD's will be found soon. It always comes back to the storage depot that had tons of conventional weapons that was looted because the troops leaders sealed the site but didn't secure it. Well it happened there so thats proof what happened to Sadams WMD's. Remember we are talking about the living brain dead out there that are unable or unwilling to think for themselves, thats what church leaders and government leaders are for.

4. Sites that still haven't been checked?
In a jar in Bush**'s bathroom? Up Cheney's a$$?

Oh, sorry...Weldon's looking for WMD, not Bush**'s brain.

Seriously, if as Weldon contends there's places that still haven't been checked after 3 years, the leadership in this country gets another A+ for incompetency.

5. There are/were no WMD's.
Seriously, the right wing nutso's need to admit they were taken for a ride by the W administrations and enabled thousands of our kids to die for W's lies.

6. I know
Weldon's been chasing his tail on this for a while. Making fun of the right's reckless and wilful stupidity is about the only thing keeping me sane at this point.

But if BushCo suddenly did "find" WMD I doubt many would look critically at it and see it for the fakery it is. On the contrary, if WMD were "found" I think the majority of America would believe whatever excuse they gave for not having found it before and exonerate Bush** for the war. And that scares the life out of me.

7. Believe me. Saddam was a tin horn dictator.
The only power ever given to him was by the GOP.

8. No doubt about that
But -- he was still better at being a dictator than Bush** is. lol

Let me clarify my previous posts: I don't believe Saddam had WMD. The idea he had them ferried across the border into Syria before the invasion or we simply haven't found them in Iraq yet is laughable.

What worries me is knowing this maladministration as I do, it wouldn't surprise me if they suddenly "found" WMD. As in hides some in Iraq and then uncovers them with great fanfare. I'm only surprised they haven't tried this yet. Although, according to something I read here some time ago, they may already have tried it and gotten a bunch of special forces inadvertently killed by US troops for their trouble. (I don't put a lot of stock in that, but with this regime I never say never.)

Over and over again BushCo have proven their willingness to cover their lies with more lies. What scares me is the American people's general willingness to fall for it every time.

What do you think the American reaction would be if it was suddenly announced WMD had been found in Iraq? Don't you think most would breathe a sigh of relief and say, "well, that bastard Bush** was right all along"...without considering that it might be another BushCo fabrication? I do. That's what I find scary.

15. Amir Al Saadi Will Put Stop To GOP/Dubya's WMD Games
One missing, from US custody in Iraq, man holds the key to the entire WMD Intel failure and coverup. Get some action! Get some answers, just search Amir Al Saadi and see for yourself. I have heard that he is alive doing OK from an Iraqi Exile antiwar blogger in Canada. But that's all I can find out. There is a massive coverup of what this man knows.

The latest information on Al Saadi's release was a February 2005 record (below) from the British Parliament which says he was released in January 2005.

Fifteen months have passed since we have heard anything about or from Al Saadi his wife and family. He's gone. Vanished. Why the blackout? This is big news. The most prominent spokesperson for the Iraqi government on WMD and UN inspections has dissappeared after being in US custody for nearly two years and supposedly released.

Why can't we get an answer?

20. Wow. I just did a look around about this guy
...and what you say is true. Did we ever hear about the invitation al Saadi made to the US to send the CIA to look at the alleged WMD sites Bush** was interested in (before the war)? Or was this hushed up in the US media? I seem to recall BushCo's reaction, dismissing it as a "stunt"....

There's quite a lot being covered up to hide the truth, and the truth is ugly, ugly, ugly. I hope as you say al Saadi is safe so that one day he might be able to testify against Bush**. Thanks for the info/reminder, and welcome to DU.

21. Amir Al Saadi MIA
Yes the invatation AL Saadi made was in the NY Times and Fox News as I have listed in my journal. The level of interest by those seeking an invasion in Iraq peace initiatives was zero. Richard Perle and Stephen Hadley were reached at high levels but stopped them. Figure that..

Bush has never answered one single question about why he had no choice to invade. There is a black hole on the subject of why he didn't let the inspectors continue a few more months. I just can't figure it out why the Democrats don't even play this angle. Saddam was cooperating with the UN inspectors when Bush put a stop to them but the Dems still lamely allow the "Everybody thought Saddam had WMD" myth to smolder on the graves of the dead US troops and Iraqis.

Saadi destroys that myth. Get people talking. writing. demanding one simple answer. What does Al Saadi have to say that Bush doesn't want anyone to hear?

I appreciate your interest and thanks for the welcome. How to get it to the top of the blogs. The more you look up about Al Saadi the more amazed you will be that there is no interest in his disappearance.

10. By golly, I think the jury's still out on the Northwest Passage as well.
With the right attitude and some old-fashioned sticktoitiveness, I'm just certain we'll find it one of these days.

______

Weldon must be looking at some internal polls showing his seat is less safe than he thought, so he's sounding the reactionary alarm bullshit to stir up the locals.

13. LOL! Yes. Brave Bowie and Crockett, still fighting on the ramparts
of the Alamo.

I imagine Anita Bryant is in an asylum somewhere at the edge of the Everglades, slobbering and babbling incoherencies 24-7 because the world seemed not to care one damn what she tried to warn them about.

I think she's sold her last carton of orange juice in this lifetime.

17. All I can say is why haven't those site been searched yet?
Is it because of total Negligence? We had to rush to war because of WMDs and there are four sites that could contain those same WMDs and we haven't yet searched those sites. I would say that borders on Criminal Negligence..
