to our children and future generations: what we owe you
Edited on Sun Jun-11-06 04:51 PM by diamondsndust
Q: What do we, as a Nation and as a People, owe our children, grandchildren and future generations?

The simple answer: We owe them a better life than what we had.

The question still remains though, how do we give it to them? What is the breaking point of "We The People"? How much longer can we stand idly by and watch our Nation go down the drain? What exactly is it going to take to get the spineless, gutless Jellocrats to stand up to an illegal criminal regime? Will it take one of their own kids dying? Will it take another assault on our Country, perpetuated by those in power? Before you call me a conspiracy theorist over that last statement, let me be perfectly clear here. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but I DO question anything and everything that this mis-administration says. They cannot and should not be believed. Never once has a word of truth come out of their mouths. Never once!

I am really starting to question my own Party affiliation. I've considered myself a lifelong Democrat. A staunch Democrat. I'll tell you a few of my beliefs and maybe you can help me label myself:

I firmly believe in the right to keep and bear arms. We MUST have some kind of defense or protection against our enemies that mean to do us harm, even if it is our own Government. While many pacifists may disagree with me, just remember.. someone else died so that you may have that right to disagree.

I believe it is inherent that we help the poor and homeless of our Country. While we spend billions upon billions of dollars (taxpayer's dollars at that) on other nationa and countries trying to help them out, we have poor and homeless here on our own streets. That should shame even the hardest heart in this country.

I believe the Government should stay out of our bedrooms, out of our phone calls and out of our computers. What difference does it make who sleeps with whom? My philosophy on gay rights has always been pretty simple:"Different strokes for different folks, you do your thing, I'll do mine.. just don't stroke your thing MY way, and we'll be fine!" I'm 100% hetero, but I have had many gay & lesbian friends. I don't think any of them have ever "rubbed off" on me. I've never wanted to turn gay just because someone else was or because it was the latest fad.

OK... by now you may be asking yourself "what does all this have to do with the children and what we owe them"? It has everything to do with it. We have fought to ensure gay rights, we have fought to keep our right to own guns, we have fought to keep Big Brother out of our bedrooms. Now we must move on to our next fight... our fight for FREEDOM against fascism and dictatorship.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but writing letters and making phone calls to our elected officials are not going to do the job! Most of them seem to be either useless, powerless or just plain unwilling to rock the boat for Democracy. I have a very strong feeling that the only thing that is going to save our once proud Nation is a full frontal assault from a civilian uprising.

We owe it to our children, grandchildren and future generations to ensure them that will have the chance to grow up a free people in a free land. We owe them a better future than what we have had. Before "grand theft 2000" we all had a pretty secure feeling for our futures, as we didn't (at least I didn't) give even a second thought that we would ever break down to a dictatorship.

Many of you talk of leaving this Country, which is your right (for now) to do so. I have to admit that I have thought of it myself, but then the Cherokee in my blood tells me to stay and fight because....

I OWE IT TO MY CHILDREN!

What do you owe yours?????
