C&L Vid: Russert asks Kos why he's not campaigning for Lieberman

Please note: I transcribed this from the video clip (link below). You have to get a couple of minutes into the clip...it starts off with a discussion of blogs and bloggers, then Russert shows a Lamont campaign commercial, featuring Kos:

Russert: "Why are you so in favor of Ned Lamont, and against Joe Lieberman, who was AL GORE'S CHOICE to be the Vice Presidential Democratic nominee in 2000?"

Markos: "Joe Lieberman has consistently undermined Harry Reid and the Senate Democrats' efforts to remain unified on issue after issue, he is basically caught up in the fiction that things are still going fine in Iraq, and long-term, even on the issue of Social Security, when Bush tried to privatize Social Security last year, Joe Lieberman was the last Democrat to fall in line. He consistently undermines the caucus, and we understand...just as the Republicans do...that a strong, unified party will be much better in opposition and much more likely to actually win and take over the Senate...and the House, for that matter...than having a party that has its members constantly undermining it."

Russert: "But John Kerry, John Edwards, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton ALL voted for the war in Iraq..."

Markos then explains to Russert that, unlike Lieberman, Kerry, Edwards, Biden and Clinton do not consistently undermine the Democratic Party, and while Iraq may be an aspect of the campaign for Lamont, it is not the sole reason why there's no Joementum among Democrats in 2006.

3. I loved Marcos' response about Al Gore
when russert asked him if DKos community would support
Gore candidacy for president.

Marcos basically said if Gore decided to run there'd
be huge support for it, and he(Marcos) got excited
talking about it.-- maybe Al is watching-

5. Kos was brilliant. He successfully ran the Russert question maze
in no time flat with not one trip up. This young man makes Russert sound like a rookie. He is a joy to watch, smooth and easy, with never a nervous moment that he will say something wrong or stupid or evasive, like dubya does all the time. Good grief, watching dubya talk is like watching a man navigating a mine field!

Great job Kos...please continue shedding light in dark corners!

10. And again demonstrate how bad
media moderators and pundits are and how antagonistic to Democrats. Russert has a lot of schmo-mentum.

11. Leave it to poor ol' "Mr Potato Head" to be six years behind reality.
Lieberman was a bad choice in 2000, as we had soon found out when he abandoned Gore during the "recount".

Excellent response from Markos.

14. Markos was truly a pro. His demeanor, manner,
and ability to answer each question was top notch

compared to most pundits and politicians.
