Do the Demo leaders have a strategy to win back the HOR?
I haven't seen anything yet. They seemed to ignore San Diego. Maybe keeping their powder dry. If the leaders don't help out in the individual races, I am afraid they will be repeats of San Diego. The other side is willing to do whatever it takes to save the HOR. We need major democrats catapulting the truth. We need in each case to associate the republican candidate with the failures of the Administration. We need major democratic efforts to insure fair elections.

1. To be a little zen here
Whatever we've done in the past is exactly enough to give us what we have today.

If we want something more, we have to do more. If we want something different, we have to do something different.

I personally don't believe that "vote for us, we're not them" is a great strategy. Nor is "vote for us, we're just like them except we're democrats!" is not a great strategy either.

We need to send some of these folks back to democrat school. Republicrats, Demoblicans, get lost. Go start your own party.

2. Thanks for the zen (no sarcasm).
This Country is well into tyranny. To stop the bleeding we need the Democrats win back control of the HOR. It really is our only chance. I agree we can't continue the same course that got us here. Democrats need to get organized and mount a coordinated attack. We need to fight their huge propaganda machine. We need to put lots of focus on free elections.

Good quote Rhett O Rick! And a great user name.
"Our forefathers fought against great odds to establish Democracy. We owe it to them as well as our children to fight equally as hard to maintain it." Rhett O Rick
Have you read 1776 by McCullough yet? I live about 5 miles from the Bennington Battlefield and about 30 miles from the battle of Saratoga, considered to be the turning point of the Revolution. Being a vet from the 'Nam campaign and living in this area, constantly reminds me not to give up. The book 1776 says it all.

CA-50: A Shot Across the GOP Bow

“...They have got to be concerned about the Republican drop off and Democrats have got to figure they are still headed for a good year.”
--Stu Rothenberg, 6/7/06

In a race that unexpectedly became one of the most competitive in congressional history, Francine Busby sent a shot across the GOP bow and proved that even in the most reliably Republican district, the message of change and a new direction for the country is resonating with voters.

After spending more than five million dollars, using national Republican leaders like George Bush, John McCain and Laura Bush, and running 12,000 gross rating points of false and negative ads, Brian Bilbray and the NRCC were able to pull out less than 50 percent of the vote in a very solidly Republican district.

“In an election cycle that is shaping up to be a change vs. the status quo contest, Francine Busby has shown that a strong change message can make even former members of Congress vulnerable in deeply red Republican districts,” said DCCC Chairman Rahm Emanuel.

7. My point exactly. They were willing to use GWB and John McCain
and spend $5 million dollars because they knew how very, very important that race was. We are content with a "shot across their bow". What was our strategy? We can't afford to just come close. That's what happened in 2000 and 2004, and look where we are at today. If we only just come close in nov. we may never recover. We need a strategy to get out the truth, get out the voters, and ensure elections are not stolen.
We need major Democrats to help in ever district.

4. What did they do to her?
Not pay up? Tell her they would marry her and take her away from all this, and then back out?

6. YES ...
Rahm Emmanuel wrote a book called The Plan, and it is set for release in the next month or so ... His version of the "Contract with America" ...

Keep in mind, all this talk of how the 94 election turned on the CWA, they did not put it out until September ...

9. Thanks for the tip. I'll look for it. I have read a lot of books detailing
how much trouble we are in but haven't seen any strategies put forth.

12. I got tons of Busby emails
Asking for money for her. She spent $2,000,000. It's just a flat out lie that she didn't get help from the party, I do not know who is spreading this bullshit.

13. The point is that the republicans will do whatever it takes to win.
And they win. Our side works hard but still comes in second which in politics is the same as last.
They enlisted the President of the United States and his wife and John McCain and spent $5,000,000 dollars. Is that lies??? The only thing you mentioned was emails and $2 million dollars spent. By my calculation that is 40% of what THEY spent. Not even half.
