Whistle-blower Clint Curtis "I can show you how to flip an election..."
Many of you remember Clint Curtis, the computer programmer from Florida who came forward to reveal that he was approached in 2000 by Republicans, and asked to design a vote tabulating prototype that could "flip an election".

http://www.bradblog.com/ClintCurtis.htm

Today at TBA I met with Clint Curtis, who is running for congress in Florida, against the notorious Republican dirty trickster Tom Feeney.

Curtis discussed with me the importance of defeating Feeney, who is deeply entrenched in the election fraud scandal in that state. Curtis, a "Recovering Republican" who is running as a Democrat, said "I no longer support what the Republican party stands for." Curtis and I talked at length about how balanced budgeting and fiscal responsibility are no longer the core of the Republican platform - how the agenda is now about the legislation of "morality" and the oppression of civil liberties - how the concept of "small government" has been replaced by an intrusive, tyrannical, iron-fisted regime who spends more time butting into citizens' personal lives and conversations in lieu of trying to improve society and govern responsibly.

I applauded Curtis on his transition to the Democratic party, and the longer I spoke to him the more apparent it became that while he may have called himself a Republican in the past, he stood for Democratic ideals all along without ever realizing it.

The conversation took a turn for the ominous as Curtis explained that no matter how tenaciously Democrats campaign, victory is not in the cards for us without major election reform, and without stopping the fraud machine in the state of Florida, which Feeney, Katherine Harris, Jebby, and Yang Enterprises are all feeding. Curtis offered to show me a program which allows anyone given even the most rudimentary training to "flip the vote" to favor the candidate of their choice with just a few key strokes. Within seconds, I was doing it myself, and was frightened at how easy it was - and how little is being done to prevent this sort of security breach in our elections. In fact - our Republican controlled congress has strategically stonewalled any legislation aimed at eliminating this risk and securing our elections.

Curtis has been a major player in the fight against Republican corruption and election fraud - he's continuing the fight now, not only by speaking out, but by actually throwing his hat in the ring to defeat one of Florida's most corrupt, entrenched Republican politicians. In the interest of accountability, Curtis is also using his technological expertise to provide an independent, AUDITABLE, tabulating system which will track polling trends prior to and during the upcoming Florida congressional election - in the event of any glaring discrepancies in the "official results" and Curtis's tabulations, he will act accordingly, and call for an investigation.

Said Curtis "I HOPE they try to flip it. Let em' try, because I WILL catch it, and I WILL fight it."

For more information, please see : http://www.clintcurtis.com/

Questions regarding the campaign and Curtis's efforts to combat election fraud can be sent to ClintCurtis@clintcurtis.com

If you haven't checked out Curtis's site yet, or familiarized yourself with his history please check out Bradblog and Curtis's site and consider giving him your support - whether you live in Florida or not.

Thanks, DU. Let's Take Back America.

His attornys had to be aware of The Conyers Hearings into the 2004 election.

Clint gave sworn testimony on that day.

2. This is a very crucial election
Tom Feeney is nothing but a Tom DeLay protege. And Clint Curtis is the only politician who dare mention the possibility that the voting machines can be manipulated.

10. True enough...
it's only conservative because of GOP gerrymandering. But that doesn't change the fact that Curtis really has his work cut out for him. Given that he's an ex-Republican himself, though, and has a strong case to present that Feeney is a crook, I guess he's got a better chance than most.

Feeney's redistricting...

Curtis is definitely a dark horse in the running, but I do applaud him for taking this stand. I definitely support him, and after talking to him, I can see he really is hell-bent on fighting this regime. He was a bright guy, and explained himself very well. He's got some great ideas.

7. Is what he showed you unique to certain software? FL only? To running
totals? To transmittals?

What is being done to prevent this?

Which kind of election staffer does this access usually go to?

Is there anywhere to read about the scenario of election day and what is needed at each step to protect the vote?

We know there is pre-activities such as taking away machines, putting up phony roadblocks, throwing away registrations, telling lies, misdirecting including telling people the wrong day, hiding absentee votes, stealing and hiding in general.

Then there is election day - running counts, final counts, transmission of counts. Glitches in software. Fixes. Trusting technicians on standby. Trusting long distant advisors on fixes. Trusting technically knowledgeable observers and monitors who know what to watch out for.

Then there is the concern about post protection - safe storage all the data, the machines, the software, or the ballots and safe access or non-access.

How does a citizen find out how it should be done right for their county, their precinct? How do we make sure that we're not being stolen from in that room?

How do we know we are not being stolen from when the totals are transmitted.

I've been told that my county is OK because optical scanners are used. Baloney.

The little old people who take care of elections on election day are not technically savvy and they tend to trust everyone they set their eyes. They only thing they seem to be concerned about is someone going through the line twice. They are oblivious to the machines. Software? What's that? Go see that guy over there - he doesn't speak English or say much, but he seems to know about the machines. Yeah, the guy with the hat pulled down nearly covering his eyes. He just fixed that machine near the corner.

There are a hundred plus ways to steal our vote.

9. I wish I could answer all those questions.
The interview was brief, but from what I was able to get in the amount of time I had, the software could be used by anyone operating vote tabulating machines, and it is very easy to do, but very subtle - it could be easily manipulated by anyone at any machine who has been given instructions. I did it myself at his computer with about 15 seconds of instructions. I definitely urge you to email Mr. Curtis and ask him more about it, as I do not want to run the risk of trying to answer a question, and doing so incorrectly - he is definitely the expert.

And yes - you are right. It IS as easy as "the guy in the corner fixing the machine." Mr. Curtis told me it can be done at a central tabulator or any machine with vote tabulating software, then demonstrated to me exactly how to do it.

17. I met him at a speaking engagement a couple weeks ago.
The way it was explained, anything that you do over a network with computers can be done with these machines. If they have a modem, commands can be issued from anywhere in the network once the embedded code is installed in the machines. The embedded code can even eat itself once it does it's job, leaving no traces.

According to the little primer he gave, you have to see and inspect the source code before it is compiled to know if anything has been inserted. Of course, then you have no way of knowing if that is the code that makes into the machine on election day. According to many published reports, in many cases it is not the certified code that gets put in the machines. It's a very nasty thing (almost impossible) to try and verify the compiled code in the first place.

He had about 12 lines of source code that would swap votes on his laptop. You could enable then disable and then re-enable it at will. Very good presentation. I think he could be the real deal. He says he used to be a Republican until he worked with Feeny for a while. Sort of gave him a feel for who the bad guys are.

(Yeah, I'm in Feeny's district, soon to be Clint Curtis' district, I hope.)

18. So you would have to have experts on the level of the John Hopkins and
Edited on Mon Jun-12-06 07:47 PM by higher class
CalTech type to examine the code in the morning, but it wouldn't mean a thing.

I think you're saying that the 'flip it/change it' code could come in at any time during the day and then eat itself after the theft takes place? (And even come back and adjust the earlier code a couple of more times, as necessary)?

This means there would have to be a parallel program that tracks everything coming in by modum and stop the program if anything is detected?

Then, for outgoing transmissions, precise entries would be required so that a parallel program could monitor any deviation and stop the program if anything is detected?

And you would never know if the difference was a data entry mistake or 'flip it/change it' code (for the most part)?

Then you have to track the transmission path to make sure the numbers are not sidetracked to some computer or pause at some junction where the 'flip it/change it' code could be integrated?

Then you have to monitor the server (server?) that receives the totals? How many tabulation and integration stops along the way does the data take?

And the code could be introduced at the tabulation end?

All those Republican machine manufacturers (including Hagel) must be laughing hilariously at us.

We can't use computers. It's not safe. We must have all paper. We must revert to paper because it can't be made safe. In time. If ever. Because of Republican crooks.

What is Clint planning to do in his district to prevent it happening to him?

26. He is trying to put something together.
It sounds too complicated to me, but it could work. He wants to have an independent on-line registry that they are planning to set up. His supporters can go there and set up an account and give contact info in case of a challenge. He is hoping that if he gets a very large number of voters to sign-in there in advance of the election, that it will be a deterrent. It all seems to hinge on what kind of response it gets, how motivated people are. That is, if they even know about it.

And yes, you are right about examining the code. Looking at it after the election is meaningless. Also, you would have to be able to swap the rigged code into the process at some point after it was compiled.

What they originally tasked him with was to write some source code with this vote flipping code embedded but invisible. He told them this was impossible, that whoever looked at the source code closely would see it. He says that they sounded very upset about this, as if it should be easier for them or something.

37. How to Get America Back
They have made the rules so that we are unable to verify our vote. They can not, however, control external verification that allows us to link voters to votes and know what the correct totals should be. We do not need massive use, just enough volunteers to inform the voters or collect their info. We only need to be successful in a few select precincts to be able to contest a fraudulent election as well as prove beyond a doubt that voters are being disenfranchised.

I need as many volunteers as I can get. They can be from anywhere in the country or world. All they need to do is make about five calls per night. The calls will be free through an internet phone service.

This is our chance to take back this country and force them to return our democracy. I am making the stand but I need help to actually make it work. Please contact me at www.ClintCurtis.com if you can help.

Clint

28. it can be used on any software...
he shows that its like a box on the screen..if you touch anywhere in that box..like 4 dots...spread all over the screen..you trigger an automatic vote for one candidate...

so say you have bush and kerry at the top of the screen to vote for..if you touch with your hand or finger anywhere in the area that the dots are set up,the vote would automatically go to *...it wouldn't matter who you selected..its automatic to go to the person designated in the invisable dot field...

very frightening!!

The Clint Curtis for Congress Campaign needs contributions and volunteers (even if you are not in his district). Please visit www.clintcurtis.com for more info or feel free to send me a p.m.

This is our opportunity to change the course of history. Help us send Tom Feeney home (or maybe even to jail where he really belongs), help us restore credibility in our elections and help elect an honest and courageous candidate to Congress who will truly represent the people.

Every dollar makes a difference.

Thanks all!

I'm sure a lot of you might have seen this page and this program back then, which sounds a lot like the one he is talking about. But if you haven't--

A reproduction of the prototype I developed at Wong for Congressman Feeney can be downloaded at http://www.justaflyonthewall.com/votefraudprogram.htm.

It also includes the instructions for installing the program and manipulating the voting. Under normal circumstances it will accurately record the vote totals. By clicking on the proper hidden triggers the vote is manipulated and without a paper trail becomes altered in such a way as to be untraceable.

You might want to screensave. I'm amazed this info is still there.

34. Being a programmer myself I read the following:
>In a fairly early meeting Mr. Feeney requested a prototype program that would allow for elections to be invisibly rigged. Clint delivered the program to the owner believing the prototype was to be used in some way to prevent election fraud. That was until the owner informed him that it was to be used to "control the vote in South Florida."

In subsequent meetings Feeney continued to discuss unethical and illegal aspirations. Clint resigned from the company and moved to Tallahassee. After confirming the illegal activity on the part of his former company and Tom Feeney (including espionage activity), he notified the proper authorities. <

When you write a computer program, since computers can't think, you have to tell the computer (down to every last teensy, tiny detail) what to do. I don't understand how you could do this and not know how the program was going to be used. You wrote the progam so you would HAVE to know exactly what it will do. Those two paragraphs do not pass muster with me.

35. Clint knew what the program would do. But, what he did not know,
was how Mr. Feeney planned to use the prototype. He did as requested and designed the prototype but advised Mr. Feeney that by accessing the source code, the rigging would be obvious thereby making it impossible to flip a voting machine without detection. That's why he believed the prototype was going to be used as a preventative measure - in case someone (or some party) tried to rig the machines. After all, why would anyone use a prototype to rig a machine that could be detected in the source codes? The rigging could be found out, thereby making it, useless.

Never did he imagine that the machine manufacturers would not allow access to the source codes! But that is exactly what is going on in America right now. We do not have any access to the source codes in the voting machines being used (which are all manufactured by partisan companies), thereby making it impossible to detect whether the machines have been tampered with or even whether the machines are malfunctioning.

Hope that explains it clearly enough!
