Poodle Doug Clifton of the Plain Dealer whines about RFK's article
Edited on Mon Jun-12-06 08:29 PM by OzarkDem
He didn't bother to read it, but he doesn't think its true anyway. What kind of idiotic crap is that coming from the editor of a newspaper? He didn't read it, but doesn't think its true? :wtf:

So how the hell did you form an opinion, Doug?

The idea that the GOP whore news media in Ohio is slavishly spinning about election fraud here means you can bet they plan on trying it again in November. They'll probably give Ted Strickland a pass, since he's getting bought off by more and more corporate donors every day, but they'll nail Sherrod Brown and Dems running for Congress in hopes of keeping GOP control.

"Doug Clifton, editor of The Plain Dealer in Cleveland, said he had not read the Rolling Stone piece, but stressed that all of the arguments raised since the election have been properly reviewed. "We tracked down every allegation and we did as much checking as you can check," he said. "In the end, there were some problems, but they were not of the magnitude that would have made any difference."

Yeah, Doug, we trust you. We trust you and Taft's press secretary's husband at the Columbus Dispatch, too. About as much as we trust Blackwell to count the votes. :sarcasm:

Join me in sending him an email and telling him RFK, Jr is right dclifton@plaind.com

1. My e-mail is on the way
It's too bad he didn't do as much checking as Conyer's did.

2. Will do, but this is the same for "experts" such as Manjoo and Tokaji.
They haven't bothered to trouble themselves shifting through the evidence-affidavits, video , ballot copies etc, yet they are willing to give their opinions. Why not give the subject due diligence and review everything THEN draw a conclusion. (how revolutionary, isn't it?)

3. My comments to Clifton:
Dear Mr Clifton,

I would like to respond to your comment that was included in an Editor & Publisher article from 6/12, entitled "Some Editors and Reporters Hit Story on 2004 Vote Fraud". Here is the comment:

"Doug Clifton, editor of The Plain Dealer in Cleveland, said he had not read the Rolling Stone piece, but stressed that all of the arguments raised since the election have been properly reviewed. "We tracked down every allegation and we did as much checking as you can check," he said. "In the end, there were some problems, but they were not of the magnitude that would have made any difference."

You have tracked down every allegation and did as much checking as you can check? Have you bothered to contact Bob Fitrakis and Cliff Arnebeck, attorneys who held public hearing and took affidavits after the election? Have you reviewed the mountain of evidence they have gathered, which includes not only these affidavits but also videotapes, copied ballots etc? Have you investigated the connection between Bernadette Noe at the Lucas County BOE and the Investigation made by SOS Blackwell? Have you reviewed the material put forward by Dr Mebane, Dr Baiman and Dr Freeman indicating statistical evidence that point to a crime being committed? Have you bothered to talked to people such as Sherole Eaton, a BOE whistle blower from Hocking County? Have you determined who exactly initiated the Warren County Homeland Security Alert that resulted in a lockdown/and why? How could you dismiss all the arguments in RFK Jr. 's Rolling Stone piece when you admit you haven't even read it?

The public is not well served when the fourth estate, who is trusted as the guardians of democracy and defenders of the public trust, fail to give due diligence in their investigations. I hope you will take this role seriously. RFK Jr has no vested interest in writing this article. If anything, it has brought him much scorn, yet he believed so strongly in the evidence, that he was willing to publish it. Please take the time and research the evidence.

Sincerely,

4. Get USED to the GOP printmedia's coverup for BushInc. They now OWN
Philly's two largest papers, which makes for near total control of Pennsylvania's papers by hardcore GOP activists.

And THAT is how they are working to steal Pennsylvania's electoral votes in 2008. They are already covering their asses in case they lose Virginia or any other southern state.
