Although a weekend CBS poll indicated that public perception of the war in Iraq has changed little, top Bush officials gathered at Camp David on Monday to discuss how to use the death of notorious Al Qaeda leader Al-Zarqawi to resuscitate plummeting public perception of the situation in Iraq.

The meeting was "as much a media event as it was a high-level strategy session," according to New York Times reporters, and comes on the heels of several scheduled events from Congressional leaders that will attempt to boost public support for the war. Speaking with reporters, Bush began to shift responsibility for the future of Iraq to the new Iraqi government, but the president did not address the question of troop withdrawal.
