A post wailing, gnashing of teeth and renting of garments suggestion
Throw the bums out. And I don't want to hear any whining about Democrats who crumble in the clutch from anyone who isn't willing to help do that.

One of the bluest districts in the nation (only 21% for Bush in '00 and '02) is represented by someone who is ranked as the 112th most liberal.

Rep Wynn voted with the bushbots on bankruptcy, the estate tax and the energy bill. He broke with the CBC to support the IWR and sided with Republicans who wanted to weaken Shays-Meehan. He opposed net neutrality in committee.

And he has a challenger.

Last month Stoller at MyDD wrote that Donna Edwards is "one of the serious good guys. For instance, she serves on the board of Common Cause, the League of Conservation Voters, and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington."

Firedoglake spotlights her stellar CVs today, adding:

Donna says there is "no level of accountability" and that she wants "Al Wynn to run on his record because his record is deplorable." If you already understand why progressives are so heartily in favor of Ned Lamont’s primary campaign against Joe Lieberman in Connecticut, you will have no trouble in understanding why progressives need to get behind Donna’s campaign.

When he last reported, Wynn had $377,919 on hand. Unlike most Democrats, his PAC contributions came overwhelmingly– and not surprisingly– from Business (79%) rather than Labor (20%)– a disparity that has grown markedly since he was first elected. His stance against net neutrality has guaranteed that the big telecoms will continue to fund his career and his pro-corporate activities on behalf of the energy and pharmaceutical companies will keep the "contributions" rolling in.

Maryland's 4th district (the Fightin' Fourth if you ask Stephen Colbert) will be blue no matter what, but clearly Wynn needs a good goosing. As soon as the Harmon challenge got interesting, Jane started speaking out on occasion. She even threw in with John Conyers on one significant bush attack.

When you're ready to shake off the latest body blow read that FDL link. The unfair truth is that many of Wynn's constituents "have no idea that their Democratic congressman votes with Republicans again and again and again". It's better than a bubble bath. Twenty bucks never made me feel so good. If you haven't got a ha'penny a letter to the editor will do. If you haven't got a letter then God bless you. :)
