Repubs find is so easy to make Americans ashamed of Democrats.
Edited on Thu Jun-15-06 10:54 AM by Kablooie
When there is nothing there to be ashamed of.

The Republicans have a mount Everest of horrors behind them and the Democrats can't find any way to make Americans ashamed of this.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE DEMOCRATS?!
We should be hearing stories all over about the self serving dirty crap the Repubs have smeared all over themselves in the last few years.

What to we hear?

The Democrats are CUT AND RUN COWARDS!

So what does the public think? Repubs are fine but Democrats are cowards.

The EXACT SAME CRAP AS LAST TIME is being pushed in our faces and the Democrats response is EXACTLY THE SAME!

Wait for the attack and then bring up reasons why it's not true.

PEOPLE DON'T LISTEN TO REASONS. They are too involved with their emotions to listen.

WHEN ARE DEMOCRATS GOING TO PLAY THE GAME? NEVER! I BLAME THEM FOR THE DEATH OF OUR DEMOCRACY!

Damn I'm upset.

2. Don't worry. Ann Coulter's whole schtick is smearing "liberals"..
..with broad, idiotic generalizations. But the only group she's really helping DEFINE are Republicans, and Americans are finally seeing quite how deranged and inhuman this group of fascists is.

3. i find it impossible to become more cynical at this point
the war will go on as long as the GOP finds it effective in maintaining power.

they have no interest in fiscal responsibility.

it will be the end of our hegemony, and in the end, that may not be a bad thing. except that it will be china that replaces us.

4. I don't agree
It may seem like this at times due to MSM spin or little devils on our shoulders, but just look at recent polls. The public does not want Republicans in power anymore.

13. I WANT to believe ...
that people have had enough ... And, you are SO right that until the bloody end the MSM is going to do the Republicans are the Yankees and the Democrats are the Cleveland Indian's routine ...

But, even trying to weed though that, it only goes so far, with people saying they have had it with the repukes, but always lumping the Ds in with them ... It seems like the best we can hope for is people just not voting ...

5. The "Revolution" has started in Virginia
...and it's not going to be pretty :D

From: http://www.dailyprogress.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=CDP%2FMGArticle%2FCDP_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1149188462900&path=!news

“Webb won because Democrats are mad at Allen and Bush and they would like to send a message on Iraq,” Sabato said. “This was a very strategic vote, an unusually strategic vote for Democrats.”

Webb’s nearly 11,000-vote statewide margin of victory included wins by more than 4,400 votes in Arlington County and 7,900 votes in Fairfax County where the decorated Marine veteran of the Vietnam War carried 68.8 percent and 61.3 percent of the votes, respectively.

“It’s a sign of the maturing of the Democratic Party,” Sabato said of the nomination of the more centrist candidate whose war record promises to bring more military and moderate voters into a party that usually nominates reliably liberal candidates.

“This is not somebody who can be lightly dismissed,” Sabato said of Webb.

10. Voting "strategically" is certainly one of the keys.........
that Democratic voters need to excercise.

When voting in primaries, we have to vote for who can win a general election considering the GOP opponent. That's what Virginians did on Tuesday, and that is why we now have a chance of getting one more Democrat into the senate.

Webb will run as anti-war, unlike the dem cowards who are afraid of being called anti-American.

This will be our true test.

16. I can't wait for the "games to begin".....
Webb is such an honest and refreshing intellectual, and he's going to bloody Allen up good, hopefully defeat him :D

This race even has international attention, I saw an article earlier that the UK is rooting for Webb ! Probably because Allen has his lips firmly planted on Bush's ass. Allen won't be campaigning for President this summer

6. The one I find hilarious is "Democrats are socialist"
As an entrepeneur, I know a lot of people who have started and run their own business. Far more are Democrat than Republican. Soros is a Democrat. Gates votes Democrat. Buffett is a Democrat. The founders of Google are Democrats. I find that most people in the high-tech world would never associate themselves with the anti-science nutsiness at the core of the modern GOP.

Saying "Democrats are socialist" is about as valid as saying "Republicans belong to the KKK." In both cases, there's a small minority that are the fringe of their respective party. But there are far more Democrats who run their own business than who believe that business should be nationalized.

7. Kinda like the dim football players picking on the smart kids in school
of course, the football players get all the free passes because they're bringing "fame" to the school, and you don't snitch on the stars . . .

and ten years later, the football players are sitting in bars wondering where their glory went . . . as the intellectuals in high school are now driving around in their new cars . . . (but in Repuke world, the football bullies get the primo jobs . . .)

8. It will probably work that way but the timeline is longer.
Football heros have their downfall within a few years.
The GOP Fascists probably won't have their downfall for at least a generation.

as long as Drudge follows the White House talking points . . .

the football players will still be ruling the roost . . .

11. That's what have complete media control does for you
If, after Smirk's photo-op in the Green Zone, we had had 24 hours of "This president just spent half a billion tax dollars for a photo-op. This is as desperate as I have ever seen him.", then it would be the Chimp who's ashamed. But since they do nothing but read Rove's press releases, Smirk need not be embarrassed about his miserable failures.

22. BINGO
I agree. When the media repeats the republican talking points day-in and day-out, people hear and believe it. They hear "democrat" and the first thing that comes to mind is "soft on terrorism, taxes, flip-flopper" or whatever the current accusation is from the republicans.

Nixon/ Ford were the ones who "cut and run" from Vietnam. How dare they call the Democrats the party that cuts and runs.

21. Never blame cowardice for what can adequately be explained ...
... by cowardice and ineptitude.

The typical response of a Dem to being called a cut and run coward is to try to calmly explain why we are not. They need to learn the concept of "fighting words." If someone says you are for "cutting and running," the proper response is to get mad. There is no way to explain away an insult. It has to be fought.

GOPer: Tim, Republicans just think the Democratic policy of "cutting and running" sends the wrong signal to terrorists. It tells them we are afraid to fight for freedom.

DEMer: That's a dishonest and stupid thing to say. I'm sorry, but it's just plain stupid and insulting. Any American who buys their divisive, offensive crap deserves what they get. They are wrecking this country, but hey, they think they can get away with it by insulting Democrats. That's not leadership folks. The cowards are in the GOP and what they are most afraid of is the truth.
