Son of billionaire charged with burglary

By STEPHANIE REITZ, Associated Press Writer
Fri Jun 16, 7:21 PM ET

CORNWALL, Conn. - The son of billionaire oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens was charged with burglary after he was found hiding under a desk in a fly fishing shop, authorities said.

Michael Pickens, 51, of Nocona, Texas, spent three days in jail following his arraignment Monday in Bantam Superior Court.

He was found Sunday inside the Housatonic Meadows Fly Shop after the store's manager noticed something wrong and called police, according to state police.

Pickens had stopped in at the store earlier in the day, chatting about football and portraying himself as a high-powered stockbroker on a fishing vacation, the store's manager Devin "Moe" Booth said Friday.

A few hours after closing the store Sunday night, Booth returned and said he discovered that someone had jimmied open a back window to break in, then tossed reels, weights and other fly-fishing items valued at about $3,000 into a cooler.

3. 51 years old, boosting a tackle store
Looks like Billionaire Dad should have upped little Mikey's allowance. Although now that he's got a record, the GOP might be able to use him as a campaign consultant.

5. I'm sure he's been a paid consultant of the GOP
every since his dad's donation. The Republicans just don't think laws were meant for them in their elitism. Note the waiver the W writes in each bill he signs. His friends share the same mindset.

7. This is what happens to your character, when you have
a father who funds liars. Unethical all the way; it can't help but rub off on his son.

12. Yes, and they also need family therapy, plus many sessions of
de-brainwashing. Poor ignorant fools.

10. Which proves my theory- Republicans are sad people.
Thus the Tom Delay "smile".

Wait, I may not be able to explain it. This was a dream I had last night. But it basically was that Democrats are upset. Republicans are happy. On the surface. But in reality, it's the damaged child republicans who are fucking up the lives of those who care about their country (Democrats), and who thus are unhappy.

Forgive me. I'm still half awake.

13. How's his Swiftboating working for him and his son?
It appears that there would hve been more important things to do than Swiftboat a true hero like John Kerry. That old billionaire could have been teaching his son how not to be a criminal.
We all know that spoiled son of a billionaire will never have to pay his dues; just look at the
president!! What a roll-model.:spray: }(
